made by Ced for LD 43 (JAM)

tło.png Our first LD ends successfully. We developed our first game ever... and we did it in under 3 days. You people who did it as well - you are INSANE!!!!! (not even going to mention compo freaks as I shouldn't speak directly to gods).

Game is playable, yet unfortunately we didn't menage to polish it well. Unfinished things: - Mechanics (70% implemented) - Balance - at this point gets a big 'XD' but you can still finish it in various ways - SFX unimplemented - Music is looped only - VO subtitles - Vo might be hard to understand without subs, but you can try ;) - Interaction - mostly RIP - that’s the big one as we tried to make narrative game - Animation (60% implemented)

We'd love to hear your feedback as main idea and mood we wanted to share are there :) (Also - there are 5 different endings)

Game is (well... will be) based on meta - sacrifice your gameplay attributes along with the story.

  • Movement - WSAD
  • Attack - space
  • Interaction - E (in the future)
  • Choose attribute to sacrifice - Mouse

Click play - wait for music to load - enjoy I think it's worth finishing - do you?

This is absolutely gorgeous. Character, level, and atmosphere are all beautiful. I think it's great already and would love to see it with everything fully implemented in the future. Nice work! :)

I adore the art style! The idea could lead way further, if you continue working on it! well done

Incredible execution of an idea thematically adequate. The first contact with the game is gorgeous, with the otherworldly graphics and music transporting me into a warped version of a "Shadow-of-the-Colossus-y" holy land. And while I love your implementation of a die and retry mechanic, I wish it wasn't so hard to see the end, especially when the visual narration is so nice.

Pros :
- Breathtaking graphics and artistic direction
- The music really gives personality to your vision of a "holy land"
- The writing and the voice of the gods - makes you want to try them all !
- Tough but rewarding Die and Retry concept
- Tight platforming controls

Cons :
- "Balance - at this point gets a big ‘XD’"
- Some more visual feedback would help a lot (not always sure what hurts and what does not)

All in all, an excellent job. Can't wait to see what this could become, or what you'll do next.

Yes, you should definitely finish this. Really liked the art style and mood. Like others have said, it needs a bit more polish and some visual feedback for attacks etc

That was really creative! I made myself totally blind on accident lol but the learning the 'R' key restarted helped XD

Wow, the art is really gorgeous... Your game lacks polish, true, but your universe really has potential to be explored in a full game. Impressive for a first game!

Nice graphics! It didn't always give me the option to sacrifice when I needed too, took a couple of hits in the beginning with the bird to get the sacrifice menu. I liked how they were tied to your abilities in the game that you needed, only through play and failure can you figure out how to make progress.

Wow, this game is beautiful! Graphics and audio are so pretty, nice mysterious atmosphere. Idea of sacrificing your gameplay attributes was surprising and different.
One thing to mention, I wasn't always sure if enemies hit me or not.
It would be cool if you continue with this game!

Has a lot of potential! You can tell this is unfinished, there is definitely a lot of stuff missing and/or sort-of half there, but that's also sort of understandable since it seems like you guys tackled quite a lot (especially for a first time game!). Since you didn't get to implement everything, I think it would help to detail some of your intentions in your game description so that we can at least see where you were going with the mechanics -- I think some of it is a bit confusing as is since it's hard to tell what is unfinished and what is not.

Congratulations on your first game!
