Sacrifices mustn't be made by Tygrak

[raw]
made by Tygrak for LD 43 (COMPO)

Create crystals using your cards and then power them up to stop the enemies from sacrificing themselves!

The game is basically a real time tower defense with card game mechanics. Every 8 seconds the turn ends, restoring half of your mana and allowing you to draw 2 cards. You can have 9 cards maximum in your hand. Red, green and blue crystals are functionally the same. Black crystals deal less damage, but they hit all enemies on a tile. Good luck!

The scaling isn't harsh enough, so you can probably survive for a really long time. Share your highscores anyways :).

If you are playing using the WebGL build, I recommend using the full screen option.

Created using Unity, a bit of Illustrator and a lot of code. Sadly I didn't have time to make any card art or music.

Great job! A single player card game would be one of the last kinds of games I would have thought anyone would attempt for a game jam, but you kind of pulled it off.
I say "kind of" because I think it needs a lot of tweaks before it's a complete game.
One thing that comes to mind is the timer. I don't think the timer serves this game well since there is a lot of text to read and you can't really implement any kind of strategy in 10 seconds at a time with 3 or more cards to choose from.

This is a very neat game with interesting twist on tower defence and card games.
More levels with different layout would be nice.

Sadly, i have a problem with resolution in html5 version, cant read cards description, because text is too small.

@captaingim There is a full screen button in the html version, or you can play the executable version which can be played in full screen too.

Great great entry!!

It took me a few attempts but I ended up with a filled map and played until turn 247. I risked a transfusion and couldn't get something conjured in time and the enemies broke through. What a battle, what a downfall!

My only complain would be that added cards shift around the current cards. I wish that the cards just get added to the right with the whole set being left aligned. A card index outside the game would help in the beginning, it was kinda hard to learn all the cards while playing.
