Probably A Capable Rhythm Game is, you guessed it, a stylized rhythm game about desperately keeping your car powered by pumping the engine's cylinders yourself, and making sure not to ram directly into a wall. There's also music. Because I guess you have a radio?

Controls are: A + D to pump your left and right pistons & <- + -> to move your car. Pistons must be pumped in time with the music, but you may move freely. If you're feeling spunky, pump in double-time for bonus points!

I am left wondering the same question the title poses, it is the root of an amazing concept, but lacks the polish a rhythm game needs. There's some really good ideas here though, keep it up.

I really like this one a lot! The music just makes me unable to not smile at the game.

Holy cow! So much fun! Keeping the left hand pumping while the right hand was hopping lanes was some awesome mental gymnastics and the music was amazing! Great work! Definitely a capable rhythm game!

Upbeat and colorful, I liked the music!
gameplay was a bit strange perhaps more onscreen prompts would have helped me understand what's going on?

I literally made an account just to comment on this one game.

I really really enjoyed this. Like a lot. Like a lot a lot.

I mean yeah there's not much polish but it felt decent enough for LD. And most importantly really really fun, and in my opinion that's the hardest and most important part. Music was fantastic so props for that. I loved the two different hands doing different things, but that could be the marimba player in me. I think if you made the whole screen pulse to the beat that'd be awesome, but also I never really looked at the thing in the bottom. Also there's very little connection to the theme. I only saw the meter on the left on my second play though.

But I can't stress how much I really enjoyed playing this game. Fantastic job!!!

I liked it! The music tracks were great, though I do have two issues with the game.

a)An instruction screen or music bars on the side would make controls more obvious to new players.
b)Tapping a and d is tiiiring after a while, especially on double tempo!

Really enjoyed it overall though ^^

Thanks so much for the positive feedback! We barely were able to finish this thing in time. I had to choose between having a scoring system, and polishing the looks a bit more. I felt it'd be nice to try and strive for your best!

Hey guys, it's the composer here. I'm glad you all like the game and the music. This is my first venture into composing for games, so I'm so happy it's being well received!

Music is aggressively cheerful. Helped me avoid punching my monitor because it's pretty difficult. It somehow felt like the graphic at the bottom was out of sync or something, but the scoring seemed correct so it doesn't really matter.

It's such a great and fun game, and the music is outstanding too! The game needs to give some feedback when the player is doing great (pretty much like when the message of the spamming cilinders comes in), but aside from that is an excellent work!
