About the game

Stack different 3D shapes and try to score as many points as you can before you run out of space.

Buy some time to score more points by completely filling layers to clear those blocks.

Dark, intense sound and an 80s inspired retro neon aesthetic.

Tools

Made in Unity, using Blender, Photoshop, and Audacity.

Controls

W,A,S,D Move the falling shape.

Q,E Rotate the Camera

Arrow Keys: Rotate the falling shape.

Spacebar: Fast forward.

Scoring

Each block that successfully gets set down before the stack overflows the play area gives a small amount of points.

Each layer cleared gives a large amount of points AND it makes room to set more blocks.

Thanks for playing!

Interesting take on a 3D version of something like Tetris. It was fun. The shadows help visualize where a block would land, but it can still be tough to figure it out sometimes. Also, the sound speeding up when the blocks speed up with space is a little odd.

This was fun. A little hard to visualise at times, but that's the challenge. It would be nice to maybe have free orbital camera control on the mouse, and some how get the rotation buttons on there too. Good work though - one of the better takes on "teris-plus".

3D Teteris! Personally I actually enjoyed playing this, something about it satisfys apart of me.

Only issue: Music is very loud

Other than that, give it a try!

Fun & Cool. I like the art style.

@erasmus-crowley Can you also create the html build or Mac build? I don't think that is a big issue with Unity (unless there is platform specific shaders or apis). I'd like to have a try but don't want to build the Unity project locally.

Looks good but hard to read. Itd be easier to read from a higher perspective, whether or not that's what you want. :) Anyway, works well, could stand to be faster (at the non-speedup speed), I feel like Tetris' base speed was faster than this at least...

@guardhei Mac build uploaded! I don't have a Mac myself so I can't test it. Let me know if it works or not?

Everything works well technically, but it is pretty difficult to navigate. It would be awesome to be able to rotate the whole field around to get a better sense of the state of the game. I like the idea you had for the music speed changing with the blocks.

Really enjoyable and challenging gameplay, just hard to move around the 3D space. I think a mouse controlled camera may be better.

The game is good! Nice job so far! But a bit of polish wouldn't hurt :D

The major downside of the game is that there are too many keys involved in the gameplay, in contrast to the simplicity of the mechanics.

super cool!. I glitched it out by jamming pieces together, BUT love the 3D tetris.

Very good game ! I spot a bug, when a falling bloc is side by side with the structure already built, you can make the bloc go inside the structure. Maybe some side collision is missing. Except that, perfect art, love the "bump mapping" color effect.

@erasmus-crowley Thank! Just tried the Mac build, the size of 70mb really scared me (blink)! The bgm is interesting, really has a sci-fi theme. The theme is also well fit. But just like @xyntell said, it was a bit of polish. View angles and all those stuffs. And a bug pointed out -- though using space can speed up, you still have to wait for the same time until the next pattern comes. Just a little guess, you use coroutine and WaitForSeconds to generate the block?

@guardhei Not a coroutine, but you're right that there is a set delay between one shape being 'set' and the next being instantiated. It didn't occur to me to reduce that delay when holding space. That's a really good idea.

overall game is good but I was getting really confused while playing the game because controlling the camera as well as controlling the block is quite difficult at the same time. Anyways game is good. Great Work...

Cool neon art style. Hard to see where the blocks are when there are no blocks underneath. While the idea of 3D tetris seems fine it is quite hard to execute well, and I supposed what's here is as good as 3D tetris can be. I think the music should not fast forward when space is pressed. Aside from that, cool game.

Really mind bending, and sometimes very confusing, but one gets the hang of it at some point. Nice aesthetics. I think, the game doesn't want me to leave... no, seriously, how do you exit the game (in fullscreen)??

at the beginning controlling the blocks was quite hard, especially as WASD maps rotated of 45°. could have had the camera look at a face directly to make it easier. graphics and audio very polished. overall good game!

I love the graphics and background music,
kind of hard to control the blocks though.
Still a good game, well done!

This is awesome! I love the overall theme and look. It almost looks Tron-esque with the neon grid!

It took a while to get used to controls and getting used to the 3d space, but after that I had fun. It becomes classic tetris with a twist. It was nice and simple.

Tetris 3D, I'd love to see a complete game with that concept! The SF scene is amazing
