Static Shoes by drkr

1.png W A S D or Arrow Keys - to move and jump

Moving increases your charge, jumping releases your charge activating anything in the AOE, the goal is to get to the purple square.

I didn't get much time for this LD so it's a bit barebones but I still learned a lot.

Nice concept! The game was kinda clunky though. If you had enough time, i think this would've been a great game. Keep up the great work :D

I like the concept a lot. The puzzle design was great .

If you go back to it, I would suggest making the character slide a little less when you slow down; I fell off a couple platforms because I expected to stop sooner than I did.

Once the mechanic clicked, it was a surprisingly fun game to play through! The debug-esque graphics actually worked quite well for my tastes, since whenever I was building charge against a wall, it got me to imagine a person frantically slipping and sliding around while in [this](https://d2gg9evh47fn9z.cloudfront.net/800px_COLOURBOX8241423.jpg) pose. :)

The idea is cool, but I didn't think the gameplay felt very good to be honest.

The controls are too slippery, the hitboxes seemed a bit off and I wasn't really sure what I needed to do to be honest. Once I got the hang of it it worked, but still felt clunky. The puzzle design was great though.

Not going to say much about the graphics. They work, but seem more like proof of concept.

Overall it really needed a bit more tweaking, but the idea is cool. Good work anyway.

Really interesting mechanic you came up with that could easily be extended upon. You are right, the game is rather barebones, but it is sufficient as a tech demo and actually already quite fun in this state. I'd very much like to see this idea fully realized, good job!

I like the mechanics, it is an interesting take on the theme. The graphics could use some work, and the static indicator is misplaced under the red block in the first level.

I liked the idea, but some things are some unclear. If you work on game a little it will be a good game!

I wasn't able to go to the purple cube. the mechanic is interesting and the controls are ok to me. The game is interesting.

Yeah, the idea is cool and the levels work, but wiggling around in place to gather static electricity is annoying. It is too easy to accidentally fall or hit a spike while doing it. You can hug a wall and charge that way which makes it tolerable. As such pressing down could change too. Having to move to charge simply does not add anything to the mix.

The graphics are what they are. You had little time, so it is fine.

I like the idea of the game a lot, i find it quite original. Though I would like to see more uses of the game mechanic and some other ways of charging/discharging the main character's energy. Also some more music and effects would give it a lot more points for mood. Hopefully you can expand this idea with more leves post-jam. Nice work!

Interesting mechanic. I like how you need to make sure not to get too charged. A bit of sound would've done the game good, but oh well. Good job!
