# Astonishing!!
This is truly the best LD40 Jam game I have seen so far. Thanks for this great game! I can tell that you guys put a lot of effort into it. It is a great idea that is unique from others. This just couldn't get any better. I love the outstanding graphics, and even the music & sound effects! Great!

Extremely solid, very good execution of a simple idea. It was fun and held my attention all the way through. The levels weren't too difficult but had enough challenge to stay interesting. Nice job!

Great game all around, great graphics, great audio, simple and interesting idea. 1 very small complaint I have is that its very hard to get all of the artifacts dropped on the door since you can't move with all of them in inventory you need to drop them on the door.

First of all... *"Pencils & Brushes / Words & Numbers"*, thats cute!

The game was good. Looked and sounded sweet. A bit on the easy side. I think the hardest part for me was actually getting all the five pieces to line up properly to the ending door on the last level. The biggest factor to the easiness was the lack of time (or any other) pressure really. Nothing prevented you from leisurely hauling all the valuables to the door one by one and then leaving with all of em.

The sneaking/dog functionality could use some work. I found it quite unsatisfying that just releasing the sneak button near a dog without moving triggered them. It would have been nice if the dogs had like a warning when you were getting close to triggering them (like a subtle ear wiggle or something). Maybe also make
them fall back sleep after some amount of time. And having a sweet failure state animation instead of just freeze frame and throwing on a message box would have been cool and would have made the failure less bitter.

This was bit of an annoying part because you couldn't see what was beneath. The camera could have panned down a bit (so like inverted amount of space on the top and bottom) when you were on the upper half of the play area.

Funny thing that after playing and now only reading the description I see your comment about the shield. I was confused about what the last piece was on that level too. Could have added bit of a sparkle animations to all the valuables to make them more distinct. I think I also tried to grab the paintings of pretty much all the levels.

Overall, very good job guys!

@antti-haavikko thanks so much for the detailed review and for playing the game! Totally agree with your comments, you are especially spot on on the one about carrying all the items. I think if we had more time we would try to make better "combinations" of item value/weight so in order to progress you should find the optimal group of items or something like that. The idea about sparkles on the pickables is great too :)

This is really well done. I'm a huge fan of stealth games so it's great to see something like this in Ludum Dare. There's a lot going on with the weight limit, $$ requirement and platforming and it opens up many possibilities for tricky puzzles even in 2D. Great game.

really fun to play but would of loved to have been able to steal the paintings off the wall (if you can then ignore this i just sucked at it)

I agree with the above comment about the sneaking past dogs needs refining but the base mechanic works well.

also to stop people repeatedly throwing items each on could have a damage vs value ratio, so the more times you drop an item them more risk of damaging that item and losing its re sell value

overall a really fun game and one i might play again later

Really enjoyed this! played it on my stream, shame you weren't to see! I stole $640k <3 One small problem I had was that the stealth wouldn't be applied if you pressed it in the air before landing. You had to land and stop moving then press shift before moving again to be safe - which was the clunkiness about the controls. The art was wonderful, tutorial was good, and the music wasn't too shabby! Good effort, and ideal length.

I've seem other games with a similar aproach to the theme but yours was certainly the best implemented. Great game, certainly deserves a post ludum dare version with more levels, and a few design improvements following some feedback advice.(I agree an animation when you're in the hearing range of dogs would be nice).
Keep on the nicework. =]

Excellent game! I really enjoyed it, it had great controls and graphics, and the concept was perfect for this theme. Congrats on a great entry!

Looks and feels polished, a bit short and easy perhaps. One thing that annoyed was that there is mo way to push an item, so when you are at the door with all items, it is hard to get them through the door, although you gathered all of them.

A very good game.

Great game! Controls were tight and the mechanics solid. As others have mentioned, it got a little frustrating to line up the goods on the final door, and I found it difficult to judge whether the dogs were in earshot or not, which meant that I crept around everywhere! Music was very chilled and the graphics were simple, but effective; I really liked the pixel art Mona Lisa and The Starry Night! Theme was also well imagined. Well done!

One of the more polished games I've played so far, loving the music, sound and art design on the whole. The game idea is pretty cool too, but it was fairly easy. The only complaints I have are those that have already been given, those being stacking items at the final door, the dogs being a little unpredictable with waking up. If the level design was expanded on a little more, I could see this being a really good heist puzzle game. That being said, this is still an awesome entry, congrats!

Nice packaged game!

graphics are cool, and idea is interesting!

It's a bit hard to drop item where we want. And I'm not sure that have one button for each is really useful...

Maybe it could be better to drop items with mouse (or holding a button and choose distance with arrows?)

One thing I would recommend to change - sneaking part. It just looks strange that if you stand in place and stop holding shift - dogs notice you.

Except that, pretty solid game. We had the same idea.

This was amazing. A really well made game, the audio and art are great and the gameplay is really solid. The only thing to point out is that the dog notices you if you stop holding shift while standing still, but that's VERY minor, no need to change it.

Congratulations! Keep up the amazing work!
