Royal Archipelago by Yrasin

Welcome Captain! It's time to go on a flight on the "Royal Archipelago", the most advanced air balloon wooden exporer ship ever made!

----------- ABOUT -----------

Hello! This is my forth attempt at Ludum Dare, and I think it is by far the most funny theme yet :)

Royal Archipelago is a Steam punk inspired resource management game, made in Unity for the LD Compo. The graphics were made in Photoshop, music in FL Studio and the sounds by recordings / FL Studio effects.

----------- HOW TO PLAY -----------

The ship's balloon has a leak and you need to sacrifice stuff (or people) overboard so that you can survive.

While managing the altitude of the ship you also need to keep an eye on the work assignments of workers.

Full tutorial in the game. But please tell if you find something hard to understand so I can explain.

Changelog:

Monday 3 December, 07:43 (CET) - Fixed two bugs with ship damage and the unloading of resources.

This is a very well made LD game. The idea for the game is pretty good, and it fits the theme very well. The graphics and music is super good, especially good for a compo game. I would have liked a bit less details to keep an eye on. Overall a very well made LD game. Well done.

This is insanely fully-featured for a compo game! The visuals are very "programmer art"-y, but they get the job done, the sound effects are nice (having a worker practically sing "AAaaAAaaAAaa" as he gets tossed overboard is hilarious), and the mechanics behind it all are very complicated. When I saw just how much there was to it, I was expecting to really struggle, but I managed to win on my first try (pro strat: floor it).

Great job. I had a ton of fun with this, it fits the theme, looks good, sounds good, innovative take on a management sim.

Plus I made it to land, so that's great.

Interesting game! Even after seeing the tutorial it was a bit hard to understand, but after a while I got it, and made it to land! I'm not a big fan of comprehensive tutorials, but I understand that it was necessary.

Overall it is very polished and complete! Really like the art and sound, and the UI is very slick!

Good job!

This is a great game and it fits the theme soooo well! I loved it! On my second try, I finally found land with a score of 10,145 :) The music kept you relaxed and made you feel like you're floating while the SFX kept you on your toes and reminded you that every choice matter and you could sink at any second. Amazing!

Great tutorial!
Good graphics as well.
Consider having different difficulty levels, or multiple game levels as beating the game on the first try was not that hard.
