Magical or Not... Everybody's Gotta Serve Somebody

Sure... We all know that gnomes are real, and that they walk among us performing the manifold tasks that ensure our hum-drum lives run smoothly, but what do they really know about rally driving? Are they ambivalent to the whims and wants of the average racer, or does the thought of sating every conceivable need - large or small - bring them incalculable joy?

Join Bucket as he rides the fine line between adventure and tedium at breakneck speed, and discovers that some humans - though incredibly fast - are just pricks.

HOW TO PLAY

  • Use 'A' and 'D' keys to move Bucket left and right between screens.
  • Listen carefully to your master's instructions, and use the mouse to fetch what he needs or perform repairs.
  • Tend to his every whim and aid him in his quest to beat the ever-looming track Goal time!

It took me a minute to understand what was going on, then I got good and started feeling that speed run/competitive drive. Nicely done!

Wow, HILARIOUS writing - I'm living for the interactions between the driver and gnome - and whoever did the voice acting, major kudos! Sounds super professional and really contributed to the humor :P I laughed out loud several times and I've yet to do that from a LD game.

Now that I heard your voice acting I'm even MORE honored by your kind comment. This is a really polished game in all aspects. Good writing too ! I would have liked a little bit more of a learning curve and better rewards, especially with that level of polish haha ! But for 3 days of work I know it probably would have been too much.
Well done team ! ;-)

The art style lends itself really well to this game. I feel like the items could be randomized after you turn them in to add a tiny bit more challenge in addition to the time constraint but overall a very well put together game! I can't fail to mention the writing being top-notch as well.

Great mood, especially the sound and the voice are something special, and the overall writing is on point and funny. In the beginning, I did not understand what to do, but the game is actually kinda self-explanatory.

Wow, what an amazing entry. First game so far that I actually tried to beat. Everything is so polished and sounding good. Nice job!

Such a great production! The story/premiss is so dumb, I LOVE it! The presentation is very well made, love the combination of simple 3d, the detailed outside and the "low"-res art, it really all adds to the style of how the story is told. Love games that uses a narrator/dialogue as a active part of the game-play with out taking me out of it. Also such a odd combination of genres, and you made it work! great addition to the theme.

Amazing game with great voice acting and actual learning curve, where you feel like you are progressing and learning how to play better. Certainly a rere sight in LD. Good job.

^Agreed. Everyone's being thoroughly lovely... ESPECIALLY considering this is possibly one of the stupidest things we've ever made - And that's saying something! :)

This is the most creative game I've seen on this jam. Great job! The art is very beautiful and the engine compartment is very crazy .... hahahaha! Congratulations!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.

Our team's currently scattered to the winds (2 in Japan, 1 in Australia), but we'll be jumping back into playing everyone's games very soon.

Thanks again for all the kind words and feedback :)

Hey, congrats on the 2nd (should be first) in audio.

We got robbed by a game that didn't even use original audio. First place game is using this track.
