Have you ever driven a car blind? ...Yes? That's surprising. Well, then I guess you would already be pretty good at this game then. Have you ever driven are car blind and you were in a race? No? Perfect. Blind Racing is two matchups that shouldn't ever happen. In this game, you are racing against 5 other cars to the finish line. But you don't know where the finish line is. Hence why its called Blind Racing. The road leads off to different paths and possibilities but there is only one end location. Pick the fastest route or a random one, and hope you can finish before the others.

How To Play: Once you select a level, a stop light will appear that signals the countdown before the race starts. Furthermore, it is hard to miss the gray fog behind the stoplight, this will go away in a small area around where your car is had has been. When the stoplight reaches green, you will be faced with racing five other cars to a finish line at some point on the map.

Controls: When in game, the red car will follow your mouse. The distance between your mouse and the car determines the speed of your car. If your car goes into the grass then your speed will be nearly zero.

This game was written in Java using Eclipse on a Mac. All graphics were painted by us, except for the seamless grass and pavement. We would like any constructive criticisms and comment you have, however, keep in mind this is our first ever Ludum Dare Jam. Both of us are in high school and didn't even know what programming was 10 months ago.

Issues: As you all know, due to time constraints there are a few unfinished components or glitches with the game that you may experience. First, the Map Editor underneath the play button works except there is no way of saving your level for future play. Also after completing the race, it will always say that you came in first place. If you already played the game and am now reading this I am sorry to inform you that you probably didn't come in first every time. In addition, there are currently 5 levels to complete, there would be more if time allowed. Lastly, there is no sound. Other than that there shouldn't be anything else to major that I am missing.

DOWNLOADING: Keep everything together in the folder and then run the BlindDriving.jar (Without the text documents the game will not work).

Good effort for your first ld game :) Try to set some time apart to playtest your game so that you can find bugs quicker :)

Neat idea, and pretty fun. I certainly would've liked to play more. It might have been more time efficient to make randomly generated levels, rather than make them by hand, but obviously that depends on several factors. I was curious to see what would've happened if I put down several starts/ ends in the level maker, of course I didn't get to see the result, but it's something you should plan for, if you didn't. Thanks for the feedback on CarNivore!

Good job! I liked the idea and it was very good for your first game, you just need to fix some bugs hahah

I also made a racing game to 2 player to this game jam, the idea is to win a race against your friend, but for this you have to fish.

Not bad ! :)

The biggest problem, in my opinions, is that you can't really win with talent : there is too much luck.
