Samantha's Kitchen by thesedatedprince

[raw]
made by thesedatedprince for LD 41 (COMPO)

Tried to incorporate the theme in the setting, so we have a top-down adventure game set in a Reality Cooking Show/Surreal Horror world.

Note: Didn't have time to implement a map feature, so I guess you could call this Samantha's Kitchen - Hard/Memory Test Mode :P.

Mood is allright! Colliders seems like a little bit of, (Some places that you think you could go and you can't cause of an enemy at the side)

I found the intro text a little too long, especially when I became too stressed and had to redo the level.

Cool game, but I was waiting for a most stressful music ^^ I did not really understand why we played an eye also (maybe it is explained at the end of the game, but, you know, I am not really patient ^^).
The genre mix is interesting, but maybe you could make the horror aspect more present ?
Anyway, that is an overall cool game, and I enjoyed playing it ^^ Congrats and keep coding ;)

If you fail the level, the instructor explains the whole rules and boring stuff again. Couldn't play the game completely. Sorry but I didn't get where the horror is? :tongue:

It's not a bad game, but it could've been a lot better. I like the general concept of the game, you could make something really fun out of it.

Some critique:
* Game window is really small, could use a fullscreen mode
* Intro text is way too long
* I don't get why we're playing as an eye, it doesn't really make sense
* The hitboxes are janky.

It's a shame this is only on Windows, doesn't godot cross compile? (I'm on Linux)

Nice effort, reminds me a bit of Paradroid from the looks of it. :)
I agree that the intro text is too long. Also sometimes collisions can be a bit unfair.
