Directions
The Basics
In the Island select the next event you wish to takle. When you hover over an active location, a tooltip will explain what kind of event is happening there and the possible rewards.
Diogenes has a limited space in his inventory but he loves his treasures. Many events yield new items for Diogenes and if he is uncapable of taking an item, this will drive him insane.
As Diogenes becomes insane, the enemies get tougher. Death is game over (Note that you won't regenerate health after a fight. You can only regenerate health at certain events)
Items might improve Diogenes stats or even give him new abilities (if you hover over an item in, a tooltip will explain some of its effects).
Combat
In your turn, you need to select the appropiate amount of cards to activate an ability (if you hover over your abilities a tooltip will explain its effects).
Every Sword card acts as a red token
Every Shield card acts as a blue token
Every Orb card acts as a magenta token
As a rule of thumb, Sword token are used for physical attacks, Orbs for magical attacks and Shields regenerate your shield.
Your shield blocks damage (after applying resitances). Any remaining shield points disappear at the beggining of your turn.
You can select the enemy you are attacking by clicking on it.
Merchant
There is an event where you can drop items from your inventory or pick up new items
Droping an item from your inventory increases Diogenes insanity and picking up a new one decreases insanity (He loves his toys!)

Graphics are not the best, but I know nobody can do everything perfect.
Thanks for the little fun!!
I came across a bug which made the game unplayable, had to restart. There was an event in which I get to pick items but I gain insanity. I picked one item and when I pressed back it wouldn't work anymore.
Overall it was a good experience!
@shozou The game needs some text giving some flavour to the story and giving some directions, specially at the begining but I ran out of time.
@kyllax Thank you for playing the game and commenting!
I have uploaded a new build where that bug is hopefully fixed.
Sadly, the UI left me puzzled sometimes. At first, I did not know where I was in the beginning. Diogenes is not on the island map ever, is he? I understand that later on.
Once I had a choice of picking up four items, and when I pressed one, it asked me if I wanted to pay the drop cost for a specific one of the four items. Always the same item, even if I pressed exactly that one. I did not really get how picking up something would result in paying the drop cost for something else, especially as the something else was not in my inventory and there was enough space in my inventory.
Otherwise, a very fun and intriguing game. It made me wonder how everything works in the game, and I wanted to explore it.
@halfmule the part of the merchant isn't properly explained, you are right (and it's probably not well balanced either). The idea behind it is that you can drop items from your inventory and increase your insanity or take items from the merchant and decrease your insanity (Diogenes loves new items!). I will add this in the description on the game since I didn't have time to properly explain the mechanic in game. Thank you for playing and giving feedback!
I also think that I might have spotted a minor bug: If you have a full inventory and come to a merchant you cannot buy anything (so far so good); but if you now sell something you still cannot buy an item (the new items stay grayed out). It's a minor bug though, just wanted you to know it ;)
@dumivid Thanks for playing! I wished I had more time to polish some things but I ran out of time.
@timothy-spit you are right about that bug, thank you for your feedback.
but anyway well played, was interesting !
The only thing that confused me at first was that different areas come and go as far as events are concerned. I think a textbox just saying like 'nothing going on here!' would have made more sense to me haha. Otherwise, I didn't run into any bugs or anything which is nice!
@necromic I wanted to do some kind of more elavorate animation but I ran out of time. The shake the characters do was something added at the last minute. I wanted to do too many things and that was bad planning on my part.
The card game element has potential, but I didn't really feel I was forced to make smart tactical decisions. Upon restarting the game (HTML5) the music started playing again, over the music that was already playing.
The graphics are a little weak. The weak points in my eyes are:
* Lack of a colour scheme/clashing colours.
* Different scaling - the player/monsters are scaled up x2, the rest isn't.
* As mentioned, lack of visual feedback
The music got on my nerves after a while, kind of a random note cacophony.
Not a bad game at all, but you have to stick with it to discover it.
