This is a small sandbox tower defense game where you must repel swarms of festering zombies, rotten flesh vying to consume your very being, with naught but your very own blood, sweat, and tears. Use your life shards to construct venerable defense towers, but be weary, building towers can hurt you as well!

CONTROLS:

-WASD or Arrow Keys to move

-Left Click to build a tower (cost 1 life shard)

-Left Click on a fully healed tower to upgrade it (cost 1 life shard)

-Left Click on a damaged tower to heal it and boost it's health (cost 1 life shard)

-Left Click on nearby blocks to pick them up and place them

-Right Click on a tower to destroy it

Man, tower defense are sooooo time consuming, i've spent too much time on your game! Congrats!

Dropping rocks is not easy in my opinion, maybe you could add an indicator where it would dropped?

Had a good bit of fun with this, then on my second attempt I discovered a bit of an exploit:

Managed to survive from Wave 5 or so up to Wave 20 with that (One of the enemies was able to clip through the rock slightly and damage me). Great job pulling this off for the compo!

@64mega Yeah I didn't have time to fix the balancing to help with that strategy. The big zombies need to spawn more often and have more health to break through the walls, and the towers need to be slower to upgrade.

Cute game! It's pretty easy though.

I loved the mashup between open world and tower defense.

Good stuff!

I like the art style! The game is a cool concept but needs balance. I got to wave 13 now and it doesn't seem to be getting much harder and I just keep buying more towers. Increasing difficulty would help. It would also be nice to have more options strategy wise.

Fun tower defence, good simple concept. Maybe some polish on the controls (was a bit confusing what I could click and so on) and balancing would take it to awesome territory. Good work!

Fun game, I stoped at wave 75 as it would have continued forever.

I would have like a magnet effect to help collect life.

Controlling a character in a tower defense is a very good idea, I don't know why I have never seen it in another game before.

Congratulations!

Cool little tower defense game! As others mentioned, it was a little bit easy - I got to level 21 then shut it off. Was fun up to that point for sure. Not a whole lot to say that others haven't covered. Nicely done.

Really nice thing. Had to stop after 22nd wave... as I´m used to get stuck with this kind of a game :) It would be great if you could visualy display the upgrades of the towers. But it is hardly a complaint as I loved it really much! Great job and try to play and rate some other games as well to get more reviews! Your entry is totally worth trying

Great little game. I spent way longer playing that I thought I would. I got to about wave 28 before I decided to stop. It's really compelling to be able to collect blocks and use them to build up my little fort. I wish building up the fort was more relevant though - it seemed like the towers were so strong that the walls weren't strictly necessary. But I had fun regardless and it was really fun to mow down hordes of hundreds of bouncing greens guys.
