thank you to playing our game! :)
Here is a hint:
You have to toggle with the "T"-key to the shadow world and active the switch (purple egg) in the bottom right corner, then the barrier will disappear. :)
Here is a hint: When you are in the shadow world, walk to the bottom right lamp that is switched off. That will open the door for you. :sparkles:
A couple of things that would have made the game a bit more immersive and fun would be a more interesting battle system, and music themes that are a little bit longer.
Some gameplay feedback:
- Add ability for the user to swap key commands, I prefer WASD :)
- I love the little 'unlit lamp' puzzle in the beginning but it would be cool if you could introduce that in a more engaging way. The first time I met the old lady who was giving us back story, I just skipped through the entire dialog and had to come back and actually read what she was saying.
That said, I'm thoroughly impressed at what y'all were able to accomplish in a weekend.
* Controls were a bit strange, maybe wasd and spacebar?
* As many, I couldn't find out what to do on the first room 😰. I went trough after reading your hint
* Movement is a bit weird, it's like the player keeps moving after I already stopped pressing the key
Other than that, art is BEAUTIFUL music is great too and it has a great mood!
Great work!
Overall solid entry!
I think it's one of the best that I played so far.
Actualy I liked everything, graphics, music, the gameplay itself..
Congratulations on your entry for this Ludum Dare o/
I'd say the walk-around was a little bit slow. And I'm still not sure if the enemies' rock-paper-scissors is random, for some reason I was losing consistently through both random and scissor-heavy strategies to take advantage of the upgrade.
