Maze of Leaking Memory by Mironx

[raw]
made by Mironx for LD 44 (JAM)

You wake up in a maze. Is it a problem to find an escape? Usualy it is not. But you feel your memory is leaking. And several dangerous guys are getting closely. It's time to run through the maze and beat some enemies. At one moment you will find a vendor or several of them. But don't trust them. They will take your life and your memory as a part of your life.

unfortunately we had to small our arts to smaller resolution, so they are almost pixelart in the game. But we will leave a link to the beta versions of the arts.

I like the look and feel of the labirynth and the way you show the road. Thanks for that game.

Interesting game. It is a bit confusing and the sound effects are very sudden. I would suggest make your representation of the theme more clear. I would greatly appreciate it if you played my game as well here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/spirit

This is a cool game! The controls are a little quirky, and the premise isn't super clear, but the game as a whole was clever and concise. Also, is it randomly generated? If you can do that in 3 days, you're all set!

@samueldeboni Thx a lot:) Lighting was what i was doing for the whole 3rd day. Glad you liked it!

@flashviper Thx a lot! Unfortunately we could not generate the maze. We used online generator and edited them.

I won but I didn't understand the memory mechanic - does it make the minimap last longer before fading away or something?

@sylvie. Yes the memory upgrades do exactly the thing you asked about. But unfortinatly it is rather rare upgrade.

Interesting game. I was never sure how I was doing, where I was trying to go, or what exactly my goal was... but the revealing path, the dark colors, and the sound kept me engaged and I appreciated the experience. thanks!

Cool game! I found the combat a bit difficult, perphaps making it attack at the direction of mouse would have been better but its still managable. I think its also a bit short, i finished the game in less than 2 minutes but i feel like i just got very lucky!

Great job!

Interesting concept! The controls were a bit hard to get into, but then I liked the graphics vanishing effect of the maze and the lightning/line of sight with the minimap. Sound (shots) were a little loud maybe. Good job!

i like the idea of the maze and not being able to know where you are going, however the fighting isnt exactly easy. also not sure of how the health is your currency plays into it but overall decent job!

@ant3331000, yep there are too litle number of vendors selling upgrades and we have found out that we have forgoten to place "prices" there. But that is the place of the theme. Vendors take your HP and memory as far as counting your memory as part of your life and as part of the price.

Not big on maze games but enjoyed this one, memory mechanic was a bit hard to figure out but I saw a lot of creativity and mood. Congrats on a good entry :)

Ai is very dull. The motions is not very smooth.

@xkyl Yeah, we focused on the mechanics, but didn't manage to balance the ai(between being too strong and being too weak) and we also had to throw away most of the fames for our animations as we didn't have much time. Thank you for your feedback

A bit confusing at the start. It looks good and the game as a whole is unique. Well done!
