Victor Sold His Soul by Fear Games
About the game: The year is 1903. In a desperate last attempt to save his dying wife, Victor Lavecroft reached out to any power that could help him, but sometimes power comes with a catch, and in Victors case a terrible price. The Old One Cal’thulu granted Victor’s wish, and happily Victor’s Wife made a miraculous recovery. However, since that fateful night Victor’s life has taken a dark and twisted turn. His dreams are plagued by dark visions, he finds himself sleepwalking, and terrified by Victor’s change in temperament his wife has left him alone in their small, ever darkening village. To make things even stranger, Victor keeps waking in his lab to find curious objects humming in dark energies, that he has no recollection of.
Victor is terrified by the cost of his deal with the ancient creature, but when dealing with an Old God, your life is the only currency they accept.

About us: We're a group of 30 something year old mates from Harrogate, North Yorkshire. None of us have any previous game jam experience or any formal training in design/game development, this has been a learning curve for us all! We've made EVERYTHING* in the game from scratch during the 72 hour jam, nothing was pre-fab and nothing was made before the theme was announced. We've used the following programs: Unity, Photoshop, GIMP, Affinity Photo, Blender, Audacity and Garage Band. Cheers!

The game controls are simple and effective, didn't encounter any bugs.
I really, really like the visuals, as I love games that mix 2D and 3D like Paper Mario. Als the characters look very cute, and there's a nice presentation at the start. Well done!
Love the character design and the premise! Visuals and audio were really good. Impressive (and ambitious) entry! Innovative design.
Game design, level design, genre:
The 2d on 3d effect didn't quite work for me (clipping issues, no camera rotation, fixed paths). I felt really slow with such large levels. I felt frustrated by the non-interactive periods: watching the character walk with no user input after the mob touched me.
Walking simulators aren't my style, so I didn't have the patience to get to the second part of the game, which might have been more interesting.
I really like the mood and general tone of this game. The art style is Tim Burton-esque and the sound design is eerie and ominous.
I ran into a few bugs during my playthrough. Particularly, when I tried to enter my lab with an artifact, the camera kept jittering and I kept hearing a "door closing" sound. And after that the clock stopped and I couldn't progress. :\
Still, I like the idea of this game, and would like to see more in this style!
Thanks for the feedback 👍
Any chance you can compile the game for macOS?
Having two game mechanics for day and for night I like a lot.
For a first game jam I fond it very impressive.
Playing the game a bit annoying at times, because there is so little room to evade the priest or the mob.
I think it would help if you could see your position and teh positions of others on the map.
All in all my favorite this far.
