Abernathium by Matthew Traylor

MUSIC WARNING: A midi file does play as this is a rhythm game, so it might be loud depending on your current speaker settings.

Simple Pat is back!

abernathium-main.png

Can you use Abernathium to gain enough speed to run out of (outer) space?

Status: Incomplete. The game is playable, but a bit not fully completed.

Graphics for the main game didn't get completed in time, nor did some flushing out of scenes. A lot of the feeling and setting are lost without the rest of the graphics.

The overall idea was the red circle was to be a black hole (eventually), and Simple Pat discovered that with the help of Abernathium, he was able to run on the fabric of space, and phase jump to different beams.

The goal was to gain enough speed running on light beams (from the black hole) while collecting the light energy to run "through" the black hole with enough speed to run "out" of space.

I wish you could have finished it in time to see where you were going!
Good job submitting anyway.

The graphics that you do have available are quite nice. Like the music as well. My biggest issue with the game is that there is a lot of idle time. Either nothing falling or the blocks continue to fall in the same column for a while. The parts where it was frantic were the most fun for sure. Nice entry!

It doesn't seem possible to get to the far right position, but otherwise it's an interesting concept. Even though it's not finished, it's still not bad!

The speed of the blocks constantly changed, is that a feature? Anyways, nice idea!

@echo-team Yeah, the concept of speeding up to run through the black hole and "out" of space was implemented. As your score gets higher, you speed up, which also speeds up the blocks.

I really like how you made the theme match with a rhythm game! One thing you can improve on is the make the music/note depend on the tap, and also make it tap on the note instead of touching it.

Nice graphics and cool music!
The exciting part comes a little bit late, but it's really good.
I didn't understand the gameplay totally, I couldn't move the right way, and I didn't know what to do.Maybe I'm just dumb :p

Nice game, I hope to see more updates and improvments sooner.
If you don't bother take a look at our game when we focused on Graphics and visuals and see the results that we got:

Interesting game idea. A more flushed out tutorial would be something really cool to add. I really liked the music and main character animation. Cool stuff!

I thought it's a rhythm game for a while.
The player move had a nice subtle effect, nice!

I like the idea of this game as a rhythm game, I know that is incomplete but I missed a simple notification when you catch one box.
