But I should probably fix the bugs too^^
Glad you enjoyed the game!:)
Also, I very rarely could not move further if i was walking diagonally in a wall. Very weird but not too bothersome.
In general a very nice game :)
There's not a whole lot I can say about the mechanics; I wasn't able to work out what determined which direction the wall was coming from, and it would have been nice to have some way to track where the keys were, other than learning the levels through multiple playthroughs. Maybe 4 arrows around the player. Some more depth wouldn't have hurt, but I understand wanting to keep the scope small. The controls were a little bit floaty, since the character doesn't stop when I stop pressing the button. I don't know if that's intentional.
You might want to add "esc to exit to menu" to the game's description.
Thanks for the inputs and for playing!:)
I really liked your inputs, I was actually planning on giving the player a higher view for about 5 sec, just to get familiar with the level before playing it. But I liked you idea of having arrows pointing in the right direction.
It got me thinking of maybe adding some similar indications of where the walls are. Instead of the timer.
And one thing I definitely wish I added was some way of knowing how many of them you collected^^
Thank you so much for your input, and for playing my game!:) Feel free to try again now when the bugs are fixed;)
Thanks for playing!:)
If you were to continue work on this post-Jam, I can think of a couple of quality of life tweaks you could make; some kind of UI showing how many objects you've collected and have left to collect, and maybe some pointer arrows if not to the objects themselves then to the exit location.
Solid compo entry in a classic genre that fits the theme, I can't really say much more than that!
Awesome that you liked the game!!
@derek-volker Yeah I'm with you on the graphics^^ Thanks man, glad you liked playing the game!:)
@rayaarito @shimage2 Thank you guys, glad to hear you enjoyed my game!:)
Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid maze runner. You got the timing perfectly for the 4 levels. I was always down to a few seconds.
I only saw the theme appear in the last stage, never saw the closing in wall on the first three.
Sound!
Design is simple and to the point.
I don't get a specific mood or humor involved but there is a sense of urgency. Good job on the theme :)
@leif-einar-eide Thanks man, appreciate it a lot!:)
This is your first LD if I'm not wrong and you managed to finish a game that is easy to improve, that's really good, you should keep working on it until you have something very polished that could be showed to anyone without looking "too jammy" ^^'
Good job!
And yes I really want to keep working on some of the flaws and improve some stuff(like the wall thing) just to polish it up.
Thank you again!
It reminded me a lot of playing with marbles! XD
