UPDATE : A big thank you to everyone who rated or commented the game so far ! We're actively working on a full game ! If you want to keep in touch and be notified when the full game is released, you may : - like us on Facebook - follow us on Twitter

At POWERCUT Inc., our gut-feeling is that a top-line, intra-company, trigger event leverages the commitment. Our milestones foster action items, while we will execute to identify our subpar returns. Brand image, time-to-value and cornerstone deliver maximum impact...

...anyway. We also have some issues with our electric generator set, so could you please help our employees work by turning lights off and on when needed?

Make sure they spend enough time working and watch out for blackouts !

06_640.png

Instructions : - Click here to start playing ! - Click/touch rooms to turn them ON and OFF. - Turning rooms ON costs power. If you run out of power... well, don't let this happen ! - Satisfy all employees' needs and make enough $$$ before the night to unlock the next level !

Made by : - Charly Piva : Game & Level Design, Code, SFX, Music - Pierre Terakopiantz : Game Design, Graphics, SFX - Manon Loison : Master Chef (home-made lasagnas, cheese fondue, burritos and pizzas ! YAY) - Margot Piva : Chief Senior Executive Project Manager + our wonderful testers <3

Note Press F11 when the game launches to go fullscreen ! The graphics will look much better.

Really cool entry! I'm a sucker for management games, but even so, graphics, sound, and mechanics were all on point and consistent with the theme.

This game was very fun! I love multitasking the little people and managing the power. It was very easy to run out of power, but not in an unfair way. I wish I had chameleon eyes for this game!

I want to say this game is near perfect, and Turbo mode is a nice touch.

It's a fun little game and I loved playing it, I liked the pixelated art style as well and game ran smoothly. How I wish I had chameleon eyes to keep track of all the little people I manage.

The game is a lot of fun. When I saw the screenshot I thought it was a sim-tower like game but turns out it is not. The graphics and music were top-notch, make the game aesthetically pleasing. There are a lot of tiny details that enhanced the experience, e.g. the little people's emotions, etc. The gameplay is intense and challenging, especially when it gets to 6 employees and I felt like a chaos. Love what you have created, one of the best entries I have seen in this Ludum Dare. Well done!

If I have to pick something to criticize, it would be the fact that I don't know how much electricity each room is using. So far I found that the stairs tends to eat up a big chunk of the electricity but I ran into scenarios where even though I only have the offices, power still goes down and made me felt like there was nothing I can do and the game was just being unfair.

This is a game to be proud of. The first time I switched off the employee's computer, and he came back to his computer and complained, I was sold. Incrementally funny situations like the queues at bathrooms keep you wondering what's next. Incredibly well suited to the theme and legitimately challenging in places, but sadly too easy in some, I'm gonna boot up turbo mode, but if you can read this comment, go play the game.

<3 to the team for a job well done.

@jackyjjc : First thanks a lot for your detailed review ! I'm especially glad you liked some details like the speech bubbles

The issue you mentioned is something we need to work on. Each room (including stairs) take the same amount of power, but currently on levels 5-6, sometimes you have to make some employees stop working in order to reach the goal, as the generator can't power all offices. We will try to explain this feature better or make it more fair in a future version.

@raunaq-s This kind of comment really gets us motivated to keep developing the game ! Thank you !

Great game!
The concept is very straight forward, but hard to master at the higher levels. Excellent art, audio, and graphics too.

Overall, a great Ludum Dare entry. Good luck!

Outstanding entry! Really polished and well balanced. There was always a lot of tension and getting the money at the last second was very rewarding. Everything fit together perfectly in the game, graphics, humor, pacing, audio. Well done all!

Wow, this game is so well rounded. I love the pixel art and the chill music. The flow of the game is excellent, for example having to click the generator before starting, so i can get mentally ready to go.

The concept itself is simple but engaging, i went through all levels. It's also a bit funny when you start a level and most of your guys think about pooping :D

This would be so well suited for mobile, especially if you add a little depth for strategies. At the moment it is very straight forward, but that's a plus for many people (depends on what you want from a game - clickers are also very straight forward but enjoyed greatly).

And...120 hamster babies on hamster habits! Very impressive :D

This was super addictive! I couldn't stop till I beat it on turbo. Really well balanced also, the last level on turbo really feels like the final level, it took me lots of attempts till I figured the way to go :)

Great game and so amazingly done! Probably the best game on this LD yet. Level design is good, you sneak an unobtrusive tutorial so well in the first levels. I would definitely come back later to play this game more!

Wow, that is a very polished game for a jam. This game fits the theme 100%, I felt the supply running short every second I played. Started easy, then it got quite tricky, where you have to sacrifice works from here and there and focus on getting the bucks in time. I played until I beat it on turbo mode, and I believe I would play it a little more if some levels were to be added post-jam... just sayin'. ;)

Very well done!

This is a 5/5 game for me!! Everything from the art, game concept, audio, fx, game feel. Amazing!!! I finished the game in normal AND turbo mode. Level 6 in turbo mode was a real pickle! Congrats for a wonderful game. I hope it is released some day!

Hello fellow LDjammers !

First, I'd like to thank everybody for such positive words on our game  As it is now stated on this page, we're working on a full version of POWERCUT, Inc. with much more gameplay elements and levels. We will probably give more information really soon.

Stay tuned and have fun playing LD games

haha love that you credited the chef. This aint no indie studio! fun game, chaotic. I might like some RTS/sim tower elements in a final game where you try to maximize profit or survive etc
