Tetris with Physics by gord10ahmet

Title explains all.

It has 2 difficulties. In Easy mode, you are allowed to continue controlling the piece after the landing. You decide when a new piece is created. Hard mode is like the Tetris you know, a new piece is created once your piece touches the others.

Controls

Press Z and X (or up-down) buttons to rotate the pieces. M to mute/unmute the music.

Development story

I swear that I had its idea in 2008. Neither I knew programming good enough, nor it was easy to make a physics based game at that time like now. I have seen that there are games like Not Tetris 2 and Tricky Towers, but I think the easy mode in this game is unique.

Musics

I got permission from Talha Kaya to use his music, Çubuklar, in this game. It's a great piece from his album, Small Games. https://talhakaya.bandcamp.com/album/small-games

I found it to be an interesting concept. However, placing the blocks in a way that a line could be cleared was a little frustrating. Not sure how that could be remedied. Maybe have less of a tolerance for a valid line?

I don't know. I had tried so that less blocks would be valid, but then the game became too easy. Thank you for playing the game.

I really enjoyed this, the addition of physics makes a classic game seem new. I am an avid tetris player, and I really do enjoy being able to move the other objects and stuff. Then being able to tell the game when to send the next piece is really nice! Good Job!!!!!!!!

As a person with slight OCD and a Tetris lover, I consider this game to be my worst enemy. Maybe this is why I liked it so much?? I didn't find much sense in lines deleting themselves, there should be less tolerance. Over all, I find this one really original and fun. Nice job!

The easy mode just feels like a chore. Taking away the time pressure, you're just trying to place things perfectly without much of any challenge.

Hard mode feels a bit arbitrary, I don't know when a line would clear or wouldn't clear, so I find it hard to feel like my actions have much tactical significance. Sometimes lines form and lines form and form and I have no idea why. I feel like there needs to be an indicator to show how lines are checked or if a line is about to form or something. Otherwise it feels random.

Hmm tetris with physics is not anything new, but great execution anyway

A relaxing piece. I played both modes but felt the easy mode is not that much of a challenge and can be cleared easily. The hard mode, on the other hand, is perfect for this theme. The mood of the game relaxes you but when things start filling up it gets quite hectic.
Great work!

Ahh brings back memories... Overall a decent game. It was exactly what I thought it would be, and the controls we fluid.

When I saw this, I wanted to show off my Tetris skills, but the game is completely different. The game is a bit buggy and could use some polish. But despite that, the music is great and creates a great experience.

I am a simple lady in that TETRIS is honestly my favorite game. So, naturally, I couldn't resist trying out your game - and I wasn't disappointed! I actually really liked easy mode. It was relaxing being able to press space when I was ready for another piece, and the calm music paired with that nicely. I think my only critique is that I wasn't always sure why certain lines cleared and others didn't. But overall, really excellent game! Nice job!

Fun and interesting idea! I like how you can nudge the previous pieces with your current piece to correct past mistakes on easy mode. Great work!

Nice and relaxing which i wasn't expecting from a tetris type game. I did enjoy it, Though i haven't played it terribly long yet so i don't know if there is a win state but it seems to just be play for score so i guess that might be a design choice, personally like games with endings but it was still pretty fun all the same.

@benjamin-armour Thank you. There isn't any win state, like normal Tetris I guess.

Ha! very cool adaptation of a classic game, many classic games like tetris also jumped into my mind when I read the theme

The tetris of my fever dreams. I found that hugging the wall slows the pieces dropping.

The rotation speed makes hard mode insane.

Really enjoyed it. I love a good tetris game.

The rule to score the row should be more strict. Funny and ridiculous idea. I have laugh a lot. Nice music dude.

@manimal Thank you. I did try increasing the limit by one, then it became almost impossible to score.

I played a mobile game called Frustatetris or something of the like which had a similar starting concept, so I went in expecting the same thing. The Easy Mode, though, is a totally different and unique experience. Really enjoyed it. Here's a video of my play/feedback: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298013210
