TL;DR: I bit off more than I could chew and gave up because I got too frustrated when LD is supposed to be fun. I polished what little I had and submitted it.
Wall of text: This LD has been an exercise in frustration and stress. Every one I've done before has been fun, and something I've enjoyed, but this one was an uphill struggle from the start. I was kind of afraid of that. I decided to use Unity for this LD, since I'd never made a game in it before and knew I wasn't ever going to learn how to use it if I didn't force myself. Not only that, but I wanted to make something technically challenging/impressive, so I decided to use Unity's particle system a lot. That, and as well as messing around with AI Action lists, object pools that caused incorrect references, and so many other problems meant I was doomed to headaches. So I gave up on the project after so much struggle, since LD is supposed to be fun. I polished what little I have to make some semblance of a game. There's a score, and there's health, and there's more than one type of enemy. I learnt a lot from this project. I am disappointed in how it turned out, and I'm disappointed that it's more impressive under the hood than it is on the surface.
Thank you for trying it out regardless! :)
