The only real nitpick I have, and I really can't be sure what an elegant fix would be, is that for the first 5 deaths or so I didn't realize the wall behind me was killing me and I was really confused. I'm not sure of any clean way to give feedback to the player, though. The only thing that comes to mind is a wall rumbling sound that gets louder as the walls close in, to let you know the wall's about to smack you, but that runs the risk of ruining the great ambience.
Lots of fun! Definitely returning to this one when I've got two minutes to spare to try and improve times :)
* the 'floor is lava' part was really not clear
* feels like you hit terminal velocity really quickly when falling... not sure if that is intentional.
In any case until that happened I felt the game was really fun and addictive. Would be nice to have better indication of what's going on - e.g., took me a while to figure out that some platforms kill you if you land of them.
Oh, and I really liked the shrinking space and use of the theme here. Felt really claustrophobic and actually got me into panic mode :) Good luck in the jam!
I just replayed the game and realised that the floor is lava did not render for some of the levels previously (only 1 had a red floor the entire game, even the last level which i was stuck at was white)! So previously on the last level I could run quite a bit on the floor before the level restarts itself, which was strange. When I played this time many of the lava levels rendered right (I was like, wait, there were these levels?) and i made it to the end, yay! :D
The presentation is simple, but it works, could have gone with a bit more colour. One thing that I would have liked to see however was a greater focus on the light effect. The game is called "Follow the light" but the light source for the next level is not very noticeable, only if you where behind a objects, and saw the shadows did I notice that there was indeed a light source on the hole. I would have liked it if the rooms where a lot darker, and the light source "popped" a lot more.
In the end a nice concept! Great work.
Pros:
- Super nice mood and feeling while playing
- Very fun gameplay
Cons:
- Took some time to get used to the controls (maybe the ultra setting was a bit laggy in my pc) and to understand that only touching the walls killed you (specially the behind one)
Cheers!
The game is nice and fast paced. The shocking colours work well against the otherwise 'white' blocks.
Controls feel smooth and responsive and the soundtrack is spot-on! Very nice entry, well done!
I think by far the most enjoyable parts of the game for me were the places where you could just free fall from really high up from one hole all the way down through the second hole. It just felt really cool and I think there's something about seeing the floor flying up at you that creates a really interesting feeling, probably because a little bit of the fight or flight part of your brain is going off because any other time you would see that kind of visual it would be time to panic . I also thought the floating red cube mechanic was interesting and I would have liked to see more of that.
I wasn't always sure when the floor would kill you or not though. Sometimes it would trigger a fade out, other times you could just run to the hole, it felt a little off or something and I didn't really know when it was ok to hit the ground and when it wasn't.
Looking forward to seeing your next project  Also here's my best score :sunglasses:
I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.

Also, *wow*. I'm not much of one for claustrophobia (in fact, I usually *like* small spaces), but the walls closing in here are genuinely claustrophobic. Ace use of the theme.
Excellent entry!
