Classic Games: Getting On by loveapplegames
In this game we get to meet some of the classic game characters again, or what has become of them!
The handheld console is getting old and glitchy, and the battery is behaving oddly. Run over glitches to charge the battery before it runs out. As the battery charges, the game plays faster and faster!
Each game has five levels. The goal is to complete each game in as little time as possible.
SOME HELPFUL INFO:
- To use the walker, hold it in front of you until the barrel bounces off.
Background: We wanted to have two different takes of the theme in this game. One is that there is a battery level that also changes the game speed, and the player is supposed to increase the speed as much as possible to the point that the game is barely playable. A second is that the actual games are parodies that have a proverbial reference to running out ("getting on").
In retrospect we would like to have started implementing earlier. Doing game parodies is fun, and we would have liked to flesh them out more. Some ideas, in particular to make the games more original, did not get implemented. For example, we wanted the Pacman game to fail a level when the Ms.Pacman eats more dots that the player does.

I can't passed 1st level in Donkey Kong Senior, maybe I can't properly use walker :/ .
I like this game(s).
Good job guys!
I particularly liked how you used the theme by framing these games within a handheld console running out of juice. Clever!
As for the games themselves, it's clever reimagining of the classics. The theme seemed to be shoehorned in. All games were pretty good, but I wonder if it would've been better to focus on one rather that divide effort among three?
