Can you out run the power fading after you steal the battery?

WASD/Arrow keys to move Space/W/Up to jump

First time using an engine (godot) instead of writing from scratch. Took this one really slow instead of going full focus on making this. I think I prefer building from scratch as using an engine really felt like cheating and less fun than normal. Godot is pretty good though

Game is nice, sometimes the character is shaking or is blocked by invisible blocks but that's ok, controls are good enough. And I really like these light effects, it was pretty cool. My time is 73.9s :)

This game is pretty difficult! I liked the subtleties you've added like the lights moving. I liked the concept of beating the darkness.

There are a couple of spots where the character catches and stops moving, but overall I like the game. Reminds me quite a bit of Super Meat Boy.

It took me at first, but then I got it, very good, run light.

I found the game pretty difficult, but I think that what makes the game fun. The WebGl version ran really bad on my com though.

I agree that the WebGL version is terrible. It runs at a bad framerate and the controls are unresponsive. Windows version didn't have that problem.

The graphics are pretty good and the audio is okay. The gameplay is very challenging, but as others have said, is tarnished by getting stuck at invisible blocks and the jump button randomly not working. If that was fixed it would be very fun though.

Overall it's a nice game. Good work.

Really like the concept of the game - and thought the levels were well-designed. Like previous commenters, I have to agree that there were some problems with the responsiveness of the controls on the web version, but overall, it's great work for 48 hours!

I quite enjoyed this. Wish you had had time to polish the movement but I had fun going through the rooms.

74.9s is my best. Occasionally the high score seemed to reset, I had it around 63 seconds, died a few times and it was 0 again. Good idea, the lighting is really nice and helps highlight the game concept.

Fun to play and a great mechanic, but I came across a few bugs.

@thinkofname It's pretty cool!

Things I liked:

The Art: Not only do I think the pixel art is good, but I love the different color lighting you have that also cast dynamic shadows. It really makes the game world feel more alive.

The Gameplay: I really like games like Super Meat Boy, which is what I feel you got a lot of inspiration from. It's fun, tense, and requires some strategy and practice.

Things I didn't like:

Movement: The movement seemed a little buggy and choppy to me. The wall jump seemed a little too delayed and hard to do, and I found a spot where I just got stuck. The character also looks like he's stutter stepping when he moves (might just be a sprite glitch). Especially since the core of the game is movement I would have liked to have seen it a little more polished.

Lack of Background Music: The sound effects you had were great actually, but I would have liked to have seen a little background music. It just helps complete the mood in my opinion.

Overall, very nice work. Good luck!

Hey neat game :)

Real nice use of the theme - I like how you can see the green power draining in the environment after you remove the battery. It's always nice to see elements like that shown naturally in the game rather than through UI.

I thought the shadow effects and graphics were nice as well!

I did feel like the movement was a bit janky, something felt a bit jittery about the jumps and I continued to feel that wall jumping was difficult. The game became really punishing when I reached the saw-blades, that caused me to give up.

nice work!

I like the lights and the character (the animations look like an old thing thing game!) BUT: when i wanted to grab walls it didn't always stick, and when i didn't want to, i kept on sticking to the walls, good idea though (:

Nice game despite the few problems mentioned above. A potential improvement would be to make sure that the same block of level doesn't appear twice in a row, because I sometime got sequences of 5 or so and it's a bit repetitive.
