Travelers by Ballo

[raw]
made by Ballo for LD 43 (JAM)

Jump across space and time searching for resources to survive. This group of misfits find themselves trapped and without enough resources they can't escape.

Each jump comes with it's own risk, are you going to find enough resources for the day? Will you be caught? or worse are you going to even return? This is a survival stealth game developed for Ludum dare 43, feedback is highly appreciated and welcomed. Sorry in advance for any bugs and hope you enjoy it.

Nice 3d models and visuals. Catchy music. Something in gameplay is missing for me.

Cool game, I like the mechanics. I do think there should be some sort of penalty for not getting enough resources.
Good job!

@mateusboga Thanks for your nice words. My plan was using the resources you collected on food, heat, energy etc.. to survive as long as you can, but i ran out of time :)

Looks and sounds really good, the only issue I had was the controls are a little hard to use.

Kudos for the visual style and mood of the game, they are really great! Controls were a bit awkward at some point and I wish I had tighter control over the character but other than that, nice stealthy game.

@blodyavenger Thanks for the feedback, I agree the controls need to be better. I wanted to add crouch and stealth walking as well.

The idea is cool, though I miss some instructions for the controls.

I think the aesthetic is great, but the controls make it VERY hard to play :(

There's a lot to like here, but I think the orthogonal controls mapped into an isometric map makes controlling the character a bit too difficult.

@arzi @daruudaruu Thanks for the feedback. The controls comes as common problem for all who tried it. I tend to agree I used unity default third person controllers with the plan to change them but I ran out of time.

Yup controls were tough, interesting submission though and I loved the art style, can I ask why don't you want to be rated in graphics?

@stratoskakalis the art work isn't mine. I used a unity asset store https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/environments/sci-fi/polygon-sci-fi-city-pack-115950

I liked the audio and the concept. As others mentioned, the controls took some adjustment. It was a little bit difficult to tell when the enemies were about to move and their detection range was close so that sort of balanced itself out. A stealth objective game was pretty cool. Nice job!

@arkinrev I didn't show that if you click on the enemies you can see their field of view, probably should add that to the tutorial :) Thanks for the feedback

Great choice with this sf asset pack. I'm not sure but was it there said that you needto use Space to gather resources? I "died" a few times because of I pressed every button on my keyboard and couldn't find the right one (the biggest one ;) ), I even thought for a moment that the game was made for game console controllers. The game is very ambitious. I hope you'll make the post-LD version.

I am impressed! Nice fit of graphic style + sound + mechanics. I like charges mechanic - as universal coin. If you continue project - you can add, say, disabling droids with etc... What kind of assets did you use? Did you do rigs by yourself? Did you write music yourself?

@tiar thanks for the feedback, now that you mention it yeah I didn't add any instruction for opening lol. I am planing to continue development on it

@alexkishchinskiy Thanks for the kind words. Hacking is on my list, disabling cameras and such. For the art assets I used this pack https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/environments/sci-fi/polygon-sci-fi-city-pack-115950. I picked the music from royalty free site but I don't have it right now :). Finally the character model rigs from the pack didn't come with any animations so i uploaded them to https://www.mixamo.com . and downloaded some animations for them
