The Legend of Heurgh, which tells the story of how the great knight Bleurgh, sets out on a quest through the cursed Dark Forest to rescue the princess of Eurgh who he was destined to betrothed to. She was kidnapped by monsters and now you shall save her to fulfill your destiny. The journey will be perilous, it will be scary, it will be godawfully weird but to preserve your everlasting love life, you will endure this.

You start off with 2 controls, W for swinging up, S for swinging down, with a tiny twist, the amount of controls grow as you obtain skills to help save the princess. Good luck and may you find your love of your life.

Nice entry. I wish the character could have more actions .. like moving to back and forth.. and jumping by default (rather than through a pick up). Anyway, good job :)

Great job with this. The storyline is a good touch. The game felt smooth and well executed. I really liked the choice of keeping the music going between death-restarts - it made it feel less like I was starting completely over even when I was. Difficulty ramped up nicely.

This game probably has one of the best soundtracks I've heard this Ludum Dare. Love the pixel art sprites and animations. Can't wait for GOTY edition.

Good game!
I liked the gameplay, sand the music was excellent. I didn't reach the princess but got far enough to have the move that destroys everything. The opening speech was hilarious!
Really good job altogether.
