BeatMan by Fervir
A Rhythm game where you use two buttons!
Can you beat my high score of 1644?
----Controls----
A : Move back
D : Move forward / melee attack
A + D : Block
----Tips----
Your attacks will Always land before an enemy's attack.
You may only attack the front most enemy in the next tile.
All enemies in an adjacent tile will be able to attack you.
All enemy attacks will be blocked when you issue the block command.
The archer can attack you from three tiles away.
Don't miss a command to build your GROOVE meter, when it's full you get +1 attack.
Execute commands in the blue region once you've got GROOVE going, you will get extra points.
You are allowed to jump back once without breaking GROOVE, however you must execute two commands to be able to jump back again.
If you block and no enemy attacks you, you will break your GROOVE.
----12/14/15 BUG FIX----
There was a problem with the CC export that messed with the main timing loop, making it completely unplayable. It only appeared after I restarted my computer, and doesn't exist when running CC. Should be fixed now
----12/20/15 BUG FIX----
Since everyone's computer is different and the above fix didn't work, I've made it so that you're able to fine tune the main timing loop so that it works out for you. I guess you have to have a sense of rhythm for it to work out though. Try to eliminate any breaks in the loop or prevent the loop from overlapping with itself.

+ The enemy animations and the way they fell apart made them feel unique and interesting to fight
+ Good sense of personality
- There are distinct seems in between the bars where each sample begins and ends. distracting.
- Game is hard. I never got use a blue command and see if it gives you double moves or it just is for cool points
- Looking at the attack animation in particular had a bad effect of throwing me off. It feels like it's timed to respond to the offbeat instead of instantly, which mean I pretty hard to not look if I wanted any hope of sustaining my combo
With some polish I imagine that I might find myself playing this game along with the others that I typically do, especially if it were on a phone.
