my poor vikings turned into bloodbath) liked characters

Haha, that was fun (I gathered a big crowd and then only my main guy died), second playthrough went better.
Also, I spent a bit figuring out the keyboard controls in the menu (first i had to press SPACE, then ENTER?)

Fun game! I enjoyed the music and the art.
Anyone else find the out-of-bounds trick? :D

@artengineer: There's an out-of-bounds trick? What happened? ;-)

Full disclosure: the music wasn't ours, but we loved how the chirpy chiptune fit the frantic pace of the dungeon crawl

Thanks @thomas-molby !
Yeah, the keyboard controls are a bit janky, we used them mostly for quick playtesting and we never thought to actually explain them properly.

Did you find the dash button? Did you find the easter egg that lets you multiply your crowd of followers? ;-)

Really cool! I love amassing an army, then watching them all die :)

Wow this game is really good! I love when they all jump at the same time! :D

it is very addictive and fun to play. I liked the randomness the levels are set and the way the crawl surrounds you. Certainly, one of the games I've spent most of my time playing.

Those sweet, sweet jumping animations. :)

Nice game! and works very very well. The only problem I found are the controls, space, enter and B aren't the best combination i think, I lost my best crowd tapping B instead of spacebar to jump lava :( anyways, great job!

I can't figure out how to select another level besides the first one. :D
Anyway, cute game, thought I don't actually see why is it bad to have a big crowd. I mean, who cares if they die? ;)
I think the controls are unnecessarily complicated (I mean the menu selection parts, not the main gameplay).
I especially liked the graphics and I find the gameplay smooth. Good job! :)

The feeling of the controls was nice, and there is some interesting tricks with the dash to overcome the patterns! I had just one problem though: at first I did not understand that my buddies would die when touching the orange matter (even if I could learn that it was lava by mistake)

Thanks, @lukuluk! Is there anything we could've done to make it more clear that the lava was... well.. deadly lava? :)

@megabrutal: the keyboard controls are really janky, we didn't test them a lot. Have you tried using the gamepad? It's possible to select the "infinite" level even with keyboard. Just press the buttons a bit longer.

Very timing-oriented game. Real "crowd control". And I like how your difficulty scales not just as you taking more people, but as you progressing through the game (new traps).

Simple and nice pixelart is a plus.

i loved the concept. it was so interesting. and you really nailed the theme. the jump felt kinda floaty. but it was so much fun. its an awesome work and hope it doesnt end with this game only.

Cool graphics and music. Solid gameplay which respects the theme. Fun game!

The menu seemed a bit off to me, had to spam space/enter/a to start the campaign.

Gotta catch them all! (and then see them drown in lava :/ )

Overally pretty nice game, units followed the commander nicely and I didn't feel frustrated about controlling the mob. The question is though why do we need to escort all the people to the finish line?

That's a very satisfying condensed experience. Being able to play with a controller was a great bonus.

The game plays and looks great, like some weird dungeon crawler Pikmin. It's quite polished, so I didn't find any bugs nor anything too intrusive to detract from the fun I was having with this game. And, even better, seeing that the game had an endless mode aside from the short campaign (if you can even call it that).

Great submission! Had a lot of fun with it. [In behalf of my team](twitter.com/whalesAndGames), we'd like to see what yours can come up with next time! Cheers! :whale:

Pretty cool, I really wish I was playing with a controller. The feel I had with the keyboard just didn't seem quite right for the gameplay.

Pretty neat! The only issue I had was with the menu. It took me more time to figure out the buttons to move through it than play the game.

interesting idea - but not good to play solo - really liked the saw near the end - cool game

Valhalla is a tough place, for the grunts that is. Being a mighty technoviking helps!

Adequate entry in all, can't complain much. The endless mode could use extra rooms. More traps and visual variety would improve longevity too.
