Also, I spent a bit figuring out the keyboard controls in the menu (first i had to press SPACE, then ENTER?)
Anyone else find the out-of-bounds trick? :D
Full disclosure: the music wasn't ours, but we loved how the chirpy chiptune fit the frantic pace of the dungeon crawl
Yeah, the keyboard controls are a bit janky, we used them mostly for quick playtesting and we never thought to actually explain them properly.
Did you find the dash button? Did you find the easter egg that lets you multiply your crowd of followers? ;-)
Anyway, cute game, thought I don't actually see why is it bad to have a big crowd. I mean, who cares if they die? ;)
I think the controls are unnecessarily complicated (I mean the menu selection parts, not the main gameplay).
I especially liked the graphics and I find the gameplay smooth. Good job! :)
@megabrutal: the keyboard controls are really janky, we didn't test them a lot. Have you tried using the gamepad? It's possible to select the "infinite" level even with keyboard. Just press the buttons a bit longer.
Simple and nice pixelart is a plus.
The menu seemed a bit off to me, had to spam space/enter/a to start the campaign.
Overally pretty nice game, units followed the commander nicely and I didn't feel frustrated about controlling the mob. The question is though why do we need to escort all the people to the finish line?
The game plays and looks great, like some weird dungeon crawler Pikmin. It's quite polished, so I didn't find any bugs nor anything too intrusive to detract from the fun I was having with this game. And, even better, seeing that the game had an endless mode aside from the short campaign (if you can even call it that).
Great submission! Had a lot of fun with it. [In behalf of my team](twitter.com/whalesAndGames), we'd like to see what yours can come up with next time! Cheers! :whale:
Adequate entry in all, can't complain much. The endless mode could use extra rooms. More traps and visual variety would improve longevity too.
