More and More Gravestones by 5Spectra
Hi, it's my first ludum dare experience.
In the game you are a gravedigger who needs to accommodate all the bodies that come to you, each body must be placed in a specific grave that refers to the social class of the body.
Controls: AWSD - Move E - Intereract Mouse - Use menus
Gameplay: Your goal in the game is to bury as many bodies as possible.
For this you must use the mechanics of the game to create new graves and enlarge them.
The game is arcade. I think you can win, but you will have to play for too long, do not worth the time.
If you download, thanks and don't forgive to give me a rate and a comment.

i dont know what will come after the king, i never had enought money tu burry him. I dont know if i ve done something wrong or if its the randomness.
is there a limit in the depth of a grave ? it looks like i can put all those poor women in the same hole
Its more running out of money than space, but its ok.
Pretty fun little game overall!
One thing though I think the music of the game stops after a while. maybe set it on Loop.
My first idea for this jam was actually to make a graveyard management game, but I switched it. Nice to see the idea being utilized however.
Theme is used nicely here. Player eventually runs out of space to bury all the bodies and needs to buy more graves and grave space. Progression on the game is nicely done, getting upper class bodies to bury to more expensive graves.
A lot more could be done with this game if you continue developing it. Trigger on the door could be automatic, so that "E" key won't be needed. Music runs only once and stops. Timer keeps running in the Game Over menu after you restart, but that's only cosmetic bug. I'm not sure why should I ever use the incinerator. It just costs money and new corpse appears.
Anyways nice to see new participants and new games. See you next time too, I hope! :v:
If there is something I really wanted to do was a good tutorial, but I was out of time so I wrote some boring texts.
@keppu If I have availability, I will participate of all next Ludum Dares.
That was simple, and well-executed. Other than trying to go out the closet(?) instead of the front door the first time, I didn't run into any trouble ^_^. I didn't fee like I was running out of space, could just keep digging more and more graves (albeit farther and farther away), although the graves did indeed run out of (affordable) space.
Unlukingly I lost all my money expanding a normal grave and I had no money for a new "noble grave" in my "noble pit" for the noble guy, and when I incinerated him I pried for a random beggar but it was another noble guy... so I just had to wait with the dead body in my hands until I got officially broke.
Super fun!
Some constructive feedback here:
- Body-Grave correspondance learning process was somewhat chaotic: It would help a lot if it explained which character is allowed in which grave.
- Also it would be very smart to allow for beggars to be allowed in noble and king graves, ar for nobles to be allowed in king graves.
· Maybe even start with one of each at the start.
· Maybe even allow for less maximum graves per pit.
- It seemed that didn't matter if I touched myself for 28 seconds or if i made the golden run to the nearest grave, I got the same money. I would appreciate getting more money if I make things quicker.
- Also would appreciate having multiple waiting dead bodies, so players can choose which to pick.
· This would be specially interesting when I cannot afford digging a noble or king grave.
· Transforming the Game Over mechanic into a decay mechanic that substract a LOT of money would be even cooler now that we have 3 slots.
I am saying so many things just because I love the potential in this game :yum: so I guess that's you doing a terrific job in your first game jam! Congratulations friend!
I added the mechanics of time only for the game seem faster and have a way of losing, never imagined turning that into a game mechanic, your idea is fantastic, wish I had thought of that before.
As I said before the game deserved a good tutorial, because it's a tycoon game
If I continue with this project I will certainly incorporate your ideas,
Thanks for the feedback, it's for that I came to participate in LD.
