Energy Boy by neowhoru
Energy Boy is a simple platformer.
Story Aliens invaded the earth and all peoples are Fall asleep. All ? No - Energy Boy is still awake but you need to help him to stay awake.
Gameplay White the time is running you loosing energy (like in real life). Collect energy drinks gives you more time.
Controls are W S A D (or arrows) and Space.
What is missing Well I planned enemies but the time was running out. Will come to a Post LD39 Version.
EDIT: enemies where done - i just forgot to update this here :) Music is missing too.
Tools that i user - Unity 2017.1 - Asperite - Bfxr
All Assets where created by me (so i didnt used other assets). I just exported a Web Build (but PC wasnt possible currently as a Bug in 2017 with the Player Exporter for PC). EDIT: Windows Build is now there and i added a Linux Build (but it is not tested yet if it runs).

However i think it could use some more obstacles to make it little bit more challanging.
Good job!
That said, the game do the job and fits the theme, so, it's OK. :)
Now onto the game. I felt there was a lack of challenge to the game play. It made it a bit boring to play. Also some background music would of made it a bit more intense. Other than those points, well done!
It was cutesy, and overall pretty coherent. Most of my intended suggestions (more challenge, air-control) have already been raised. Good for your first LD entry, keep at it!
Well i will work later on a Post LD Version (i think i will start to improve it in 3 weeks cause i am on vacation in the next weeks) and then i improve the jumping and gameplay mechanics etc.
But i will give LMMS a try (i may tried it in the past - there where so many programs :)).
The funny thing is : i have one frame for the jump but i forgot to use it as the time runs out lol.
So its more running in the sky :)
But anyway - i share your mind that there is min 1 frame missing in walk (i am not yet so good in drawing characters walk cycle :)).
I like your idea for adding a jump enemy :)
- some sprites flicker, while character is moving,
- making player unable to controll his movement in mid air after jump, can make some people upset.
Graphics look simple but fun.
Overall nice game, but as I said needs polishing.
Congratulations !
Although of course the level did not have much variety, but then the lack of control in the air provided enough of a challenge for me to see it through in the end.
I would say that it would only be worth adding control in the air if you upped the level complexity to a point where you would need it. It would be waaaay too easy otherwise :)
I did notice that the hitboxes seemed a little big for the enemies, but this is a minor gripe and I soon got used to staying well clear!
If you wanted to make it more challenging without going through the rigmarole of level design and testing, you could make the screen automatically scroll forwards, or even turn it into a one button "runner", which would force the player to focus on really perfecting their jump timing.
Wish there was some way of seeing progression, or a score system - but aside from those nitpicks, this is a good entry. Looking forward to seeing more from you guys.
You didn't made a background music but if you make one after, it would be really great!
Maybe work on the controls a little bit. By the way the Web version was laggy for me, don't know if it's just me or not! :D
I liked the green slimes!
P.s. please rate our game too https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/answer-me
I encountered a physics glitch at one point, running across a flat floor and getting stuck. I could get out of it by jumping, though, so no lasting problem there.
All in all, good work!
