💰 Overview 💰

The universe is in great danger! The evil Morpher will destroy the world if not stopped in time. In dire times like these, there is only one man the world can depend on. Coinman! Coinman has the "power" to have his health linked to the amount of money he has. Coinman must use well placed coins to distract enemies, light the path ahead, and defeat his foes. It may seem counter-productive for Coinman to be killing himself only to gain a ranged weapon, but sacrifices must be made.

💎 Playing The Game 💎

In Coinman, you can explore the dungeons that the Morpher is rumored to reside in. Along the way, you will fight 7 different types of enemies. In order to fight these enemies, you must use your sword and coins. The sword is a melee weapon, while the coins function as a ranged weapon. Don't be too hasty in using your coins though, because your wealth and your health are one and the same. In each room there is a chest which will spew healing coins when it is opened, however it won't budge until defeat all the enemies in its room. As you explore, the enemies will get harder, a sure sign you are getting closer to the Morpher.

🎮 Controls 🎮

This game was honestly so much fun! The main menu music was quite painful to listen to, but the actual game music was incredible, and fitted the mood perfectly! The coin shooting mechanic doesn't feel very useful however, and consequently, I didn't find myself sacrificing many coins. Consequently, in my mind, this strayed away from the theme, but the actual gameplay is great! I initially didn't understand that I had to beat all enemies THEN left click chests to open them, and assumed that they were broken. Could perhaps have some sort of feeback (a flashing glow, text or a sound) to indicate this. Also, after just a few rooms it became obvious that rooms were repeating; there could have been some more variation in the rooms to mix it up.

Overall though, this is a great game, severely under-appreciated! If you want to boost the number of viewers, you could try adding a WebGL version (if possible), as this makes your game far more accessible.

@justcamh Thanks for the comment! I just changed the game page so that the tidbit about the chests is more visible. Your game looks awesome! I can't wait to try it out.

This is very well done. I enjoyed the gameplay a lot. Main character's flailing legs made me giggle. I did find that enemies would rush me right at the door and I didn't really need a ranged weapon, but I do like the idea of having to sacrifice your health to gain an advantage. One note: You have a button for full screen, but then no way to exit the game once you do so. Even just a key to exit full screen would be helpful.

I enjoyed wandering around, defeating enemies, and collecting coins. But there seemed to be no choices to make, each room was just the next random encounter with a chest afterward. I liked flinging the coins but it wasn't worthwhile to do it much since you wouldn't get enough to replace them. Overall it was fun, good job.

@yirggzmb oops, button is f. I’ll throw it into the controls section of the description.

@wizard-exe I’m glad you enjoyed it! I hoped to have made the later enemies make the coins more useful- e.g. red slimes/ghosts, pop ups because you can distract them or stun them for a second, however, based on the comments I see that didn’t work. Thanks for playing!
