6 K by boumusic

made by boumusic for LD 42 (JAM)

6K is a shooter where you shoot stuff with a gun. However be cautious, for the ground is collapsing under your feet! You can scavenge your enemies' bodies to collect tiles and rebuild the arena. Invest your tiles in a powerful shockwave killing nearby enemies!

Simple, but efficient ! The feedbacks are great, and the tension is there ! Great work !

(ça manque de renouveau d'ennemis, de plus d'exploitation du gameplay, d'event, ou de particules pour être > all mais tu cé déjà)

10/10 would buy a fighter exploiting this concept
32k score best game I've seen so far, concept simple but awesome and damn polished for a team of two <: gg !

wow, what a great entry! hat a ton of fun playing it, graphics and sound effects are incredible and really pleasing, the pace is right and you get a ton of satisfaction from the game. Only things I would improve are the spawnpoints of the enemies, not only 4 fixed but having them come from everywhere otherwise you can stay in the middle and shoot diagonally. other than that, great game! 5/5

While being very basic, it feels incredibly polished and satisfying. I'm impressed by how great it feels to just shoot an enemy. I'm also super appreciative that the enemies don't just do contact damage, which would suck real hard in a game that hordes you like this does.

I think the only two issues I had was:
I found rebuilding the ground a little finicky because I'd slightly overshoot them with my mouse
and
I desperately wanted to see new enemies appear, evolving the combat a little.

I think this is a very satisfying base for what could progress into a real hoot of an arena shooter if you were ever interested in developing this further.

Super great work!

This game is great and needs more visibility. It's amazing what you've pulled off in a weekend!
Fits the theme perfectly and it's incredibly polished. Congratulations!!!

Not only is this an exciting game, it is most of all the perfect kind of entry for this format. It's easily accessible, understanding the mechanics takes seconds, then it goes on for 5 minutes of juicy fun - enough to entertain thoroughly, giving satisfaction before there is any chance of getting bored.

Its esthetical side is also enticing, the FXs and sound design making for a spectacular experience... Again, a lot of good stuff happening really fast. I'm bluffed !

Hey ! That's a pretty good game, you really did a lot of work on the FX on a lot of aspects (graphism and sounds), the game feels polished and fun to play. This is a hell of a work for two people, good job for doing it!

Some downsides for me would be that you designed a simple take on the theme, and I think you could have made a game that was much more bigger and with more replayability (I know, it's a gamejam) than this one, by simply giving the monsters more random spawns, adding maybe some power-up or a big monster.
This is a pretty good work still, so I won't be complaining too much about this.

I also feel like the rebuild tile button is a bit clunky, you never really know what is going to be rebuilt, and it can also destroys the level (or I got super unlucky, idk).
Overall, I feel like you just made a tight gameplay to design a lot of FX effects around it. The game is great, but what makes it so good is the feedback we get for each action.

Un grand bravo à vous deux, et continuez à bosser sur ce jeu qui me semble être un bon prototype pour un bon bullet hell ou rougelite :) !

This is freaking amazing. This is a commercial-quality game you've got here, all around, back to front, top to bottom. Absolutely incredible.

Wow that was fun!

Awesome music and SFX, awesome screenshake.

Wow, that death animation is amazing.

Only feedback I can give is that the screenshake is a little too powerful, and sometimes made me lose sight of where I was shooting.

Very well done, awesome job!

Good game! Responsive controls, and it was fun to manage the repair and shooting at the same time. I found it a bit easy to shoot the waves of enemies because they were so predictable and bunched up in lines, so I didn't have much use for the shockwave (plus it destroys so much floor!). The death animation is very satisfying. My high score was just shy of 90,000.

My high score is 98848! In easy mode... This game is so fun and addicting! Additionally, it is incredibly polished for a game jam game, or even any game! This is something I would expect to find on the steam store! The music, art, game play, it's all incredible :)

Very well done, very polished feeling and looking, very nice art and the music really adds to the tension. My only gripe is that I feel like without the music there wouldn't be any tension, it would have been nice if the enemies did something other than make a straight beeline for you. Maybe even giving some more spawn points other than the corners would break them up a bit.

Amazing art and effects. There was something about the feel however that made this game not as fun as I felt it was going to be. Maybe the movement is a little sticky. The idea was great though! Well Done!

This what game should like if you work in a team. The gameplay is simple but fun. I like that you can rebuild the platform. The visuals are stunning. This is a very polished entry. But I have some minor remarks. In the begin its easy to shoot enemies because they stay in a straight line when they spawn. Post jam you can always add more enemies to spice up the gameplay. This is one of the best team entries I have seen yet. Overal a nice entry!

As others had said before, the rebuild control could use some tweaks to make it easier to perform. I would suggest holding a button to automatically rebuild any fallen platform in the player's direction.

Other than that it's really a great game! Not to mention those effects.. When I used the shockwave for the first time I was like "Woahhahah!"
