Description

You tried to flee through a waste chute. Well... not the best idea. Besides smelling awful, you are now trapped in a trash compactor. Your goal is to delay the compactor walls until help arrives.

Gameplay

Try to delay the compactor walls by clamping scrap metal in between the walls or by hacking. Beware of monsters, but no worries you got blasters.

I am interested which score you achieve.

Technical Details

The game was made in Unity (https://unity3d.com/). I made all the graphics myself, using GIMP (https://www.gimp.org/) and Pyxel Edit (https://pyxeledit.com/). All the sound effects were created with Bfxr (https://www.bfxr.net/). The music was created using Cubase (https://www.steinberg.net/de/shop/cubase.html).

Wow, this is a tough game. Keeping track of 4 dudes isn't easy.
Fits the theme perfectly, and overall executed pretty well.
Nice job.

A fun homage to a certain scene from Star Wars, though perhaps a little hectic and overwhelming to start with. Perhaps if you cut or simplified the inventory system?

Damn, this was a hard game. But I really liked the concept and I was pretty well polished. Good job.

It's a nice concept, and once you learn how to control everything, the game works well. If I could change something though, it would be the complexity in controlling the game. I feel like there are too many controls for what the game needs. For instance, the walking action: you already walk if you chose hacking, and also move if you chose search, walking only adds another mouse button. I sincerely played the first three times figuring out how the game was to be played...

Nice game once you figure out what to do, good job!

If you have time, I'd love to hear your opinion on my game too. Thank you!

Great game!
One gripe I have is the sound for searching is gets really annoying after some time, and it took me a bit to realize that's what the sound was. Another thing is that the clamping mechanic was unclear: it took me some time to realize that the clamps took time to put up and that they broke eventually. The textures for the clamps themselves blended into the background and the sound of them breaking was covered by the beeping sound of searching.

Other than these two things, I thought the game was great! Once I got over the initial confusion I had a lot of fun playing it.

Brilliant idea! Nice take on the trash compactor, I was really rubbish at managing all four people though, and I hadn't realised that my guys that were searching had been placing loads of items in the inventory! My score was pitiful at 2160! Loved the graphics too, extremely well made, well polished game :)

Great idea but it's way to hard. The tutorial could have been integrated into the game into different scenes now it got a bit overwhelming. Nice graphics and interesting gameplay.

This one definitely throws you in the deep end! The hectic pace is pretty fun, and you really have to use all 4 people to their fullest.

A couple improvements I'd suggest - searching shouldn't require an extra click, since no other interaction needs one and they can find trash anywhere. I also I wish there was an indicator over their heads so I could tell who was selected without having to look down at the UI. I definitely had a few flubs where I just didn't have the right person selected in a tense moment.

Its a challenging game and I liked it, but it will be better if there were like a tutorial level where it explains the at least the first objects that you can find and how to use them. It can be frustrating at first when you don't know how to use somethings and just smash buttons seeing what is happening on the screen.
Good game and keep on it!!!

Really stressful story! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/RlwE2-mxmJw
