The King's Final Hour by Drenn

[raw]
made by Drenn for LD 39 (JAM)

This is a squad-based tactics game for the Gameboy. You, as the king, control a small squad of forces as you are chased out of the castle.

Be careful how you treat your men, or you may find yourself to be a king without subjects...

You can run this on any gameboy emulator, such as BGB or VBA-M. I've even tested it on a real gameboy.

BGB Emulator: http://bgb.bircd.org/

Controls

BGB's default mappings are:

S = A button

A = B button

Shift = select

Enter = start

What the buttons do:

A: advance text, select unit

B: deselect unit

Start: end turn

Select: Move cursor to king

Tips

The key to winning is keeping your units' morale above 0. The king doesn't have morale, which makes him particularly useful.

Amazing game, plays very much like fire emblem. Super impressive that this was written in GBA Assembly too!

My only gripe is there are no control explanations. I suggest adding something at least to the LD page!

Great work!

I have completed one map and I all I can say is that it's pretty brilliant to do finish something like this in 3 days!

I will make something like this one day, too.

There is even music and stuff!

Well Done! (I also like advance wars or fire emblem too.)
