Achtung die Schlange by Team Yarn

[raw]
made by Team Yarn for LD 42 (JAM)

"Battle it out with ever growing biogenetically engineered snakes."

Basicly we made a "Snakes"-like that can also be played against a friend locally or on your own. There are elements like doors/ice/turbo/mud on the map that you can use to your advantage. When you survive long enough that level will become smaller and smaller untill you run out of space.

The snake is cute ^^ But there is maybe a problem with the colors of the scenery.

Dude, the music! I take from it not being part of the rating that you didn't create it yourself? It's really getting into my brain, man. :)

Funny little game. I just wish there was an AI to play against, instead of just being on your own in Singleplayer.

I definitely like the idea of having a snake game with a richer environment. Regarding the theme, it seems the snake is already running out of space all by itself due to growing (without eating apples, how strange). The shrinking room is a nice addition, but it started so late it didn't really seem to affect the game very much - but maybe I'm just not good enough a player. Reached 149 before dying in the acceleration area because I didn't take into account turns are accelerated as well.
Good effort overall, and bonus points for making it playable in browser!

Nice take on snake. Took me a bit of trial and error to figure out which parts I can pass over and what they do, but once I understood I had great fun playing until I ran out of space ;).

A challenge! Thought the controls were like snake at first, but got used to it quickly. Not so fun on your own, an AI might've been fun. The idea of putting it on an obstacle course is very original.

Good work! A nice reinvention of Snake but to be honest I didn't like the aimlessness of the game, it felt like passing time. I wish there was something to collect too, it would have added purpose to the game. But regardless, the gameplay was done well and the music added a nice atmosphere to the gameplay. Final score 99 :)

good game, the speed, Good mechanical speed, stop and freeze. but not exist a define goal, and the circle trajectory is not so responsive.

Love the obstacles once I figured it all out, and wouldn't mind items to collect. Pretty nice spin on Snake... I'd probably keep a more-developed version of this on my phone to kill time.

Hope you had a great LD!

Nice game! I enjoyed the different ground materials, that made me go fast, slow or unsteerable. Another thing that I liked was the 'door', chopping a part of my snake (I was hoping that the remains would disappear after a while). The snake moves nice and smooth. I played only single player and reached 212, and then I had to sneeze, closed my eyes and died. I think this could be quite fun with more players, and it certainly has potential! It would be nice to have different (maybe random?) levels.
