Clod's Quest by Sidnoea

You're a clod.

No, literally, you're a lump of earth.

A ball of mud. Sentient mud.

How? Probably through magic... Like a golem?

Anyway, that's not important.

What is important is that you're on a quest-

a transformative journey- to become shinier.

You must collect every fragment of the

P H I L O S O P H E R ' S S T O N E

to make your muddy dreams come true.

Will you be able to navigate the rooms

while managing your ever fluctuating size

and avoid danger?

This is really good, you could easily turn this into a full commercial game. Also fourth.

The game mechanics are really interesting, but I only got to level 4 and I don’t know how may levels I am missing. Good use of the PICO-8 sprite scaling feature :-)

Slightly better graphics and menus and this could be a very enjoyable puzzle game. Main nitpick: I believe you could improve the collisions (even if the clod grows as a circle, its collision appears to grow as a square, so it collects water diagonally and that’s a bit confusing). Of course that would maybe require to change all the levels, so you may not want that…

A cool little game! I didn't get all the way through, got stuck after a while, but I really appreciated the whole idea of "time moves when you move", and how you managed to make it into a fun and challenging little puzzle game that also fits with the Ludum Dare theme. It did start to feel a bit long after a while, but that's ok. I liked the music, and the graphics were pretty neat too. Nice job!

Seventh! Good game guys, it looks nice, nice sound, pretty fun puzzler overall. It would have been nice to see some visual feedback from which point it would be ok to shrink without dying... I kinda had to guess which felt a little frustrating at times. Other than that, wonderful job! :ok_hand:

As a puzzle lover, I really enjoyed it! I got stuck at a stage where the spider things appeared. It drove me nuts that I couldn't figure out how to go through it!

As some people mentioned, it'll be nice to be able to tell visually when you're too small to touch the water or too big to enter the door.

Anyways, it was fun, good job!

This was surprisingly fun. This would have been an awesome gameboy or NES game. I almost didn't try it because of the graphics, but it was really good. Way to go!

The idea is a pretty fun spin on the theme. It was really hard, though. :P

This game is great but it's really stressful! I like the inherent challenge of not being able to wander around and experiment because every single slight move has a consequence! Nice thematic representation of the mechanics, it made total sense why I was getting bigger and smaller without too much explanation needed. It was interesting how it wasn't enough to just know the path to solve a puzzle but that you had to be extremely precise with your movement in order to succeed even if you knew the right way. Nice work!

Tricky at times, could have used a slower difficulty ramp. Quite well executed though, and a funny concept.

Great job on pretty much everything. Graphics and audio were on point, and the mechanics are quite novel!

Really fun game! Starts really simple but gets very tricky at some point.

My main gripe - first level was too hard and almost steered me off the game. Consecutive levels were in my opinion better balanced. In any case really cool game!!!

Very nice idea, some levels were quite dificult while others were very easy. Also the music got annoying quite fast, but still big thumbs up for adding music and sound effects, most of the game I have rated have missed it.

Very cool! I really enjoyed this! Just a very simple puzzle game with easy to grasp mechanics. I really felt encouraged to try different ideas and it never really got repetitive for me. Nice job! Thanks again for playing Dungeon Time and leaving such nice feedback. I hope the rest of LD is great for you and congrats on finishing!!!

Great puzzle game, very original! One thing I found annoying is that you have to find the size at which you almost but not quite die, when you pick up a blue thing. Visually this is hard to see and it's kind of pointless gameplay-wise. Either a clearer representation of your size would help, or simply not letting the player die when it grows too small.

Very nice and cool game. I have not see a lot of pico games this time around, I wonder why? Maybe I have just been missing them? It was really cool and innovative I like your take on implementing the theme with Clod. He's super cool and the puzzles were well thought out!

Really cool to see a Pico game on here! Great job! I loved the mechanics, but the game did feel a bit unforgiving. Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back. Your game was played around 0:13 into this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299401837
