Ludum Dare 42: Running out of space

My first project where I did everything - programming and art, but also music! I am not a musician, so I went for an extremely minimalist style, and I think it actually turned out pretty good!

This game is a deceptively simple metroidvania that is complex in its design. This entire game is one big puzzle, and I highly recommend you take notes. Can you clear the memory?

The music helped with the atmosphere of making you think about the puzzles. The sound effects were a bit too loud. I wasn't prepared for the puzzle challenge to ramp up at a certain stage, so there was a part I couldn't get past. Overall great game!

Wow. I don't know what I was expecting, but that was better! And the soundtrack was great, I hope it won't be your last track. Only made it pass the tutorial in my play-through, but I hope I will get back to this game soon :)

Extremely good game, would not be surprised if it gets in the top 25 for at least one category.

Really great sounds and art! Takes a little bit to get used to the mechanic / controls. Really cool concept and good execution! :)

Game is really fun. However, the controls are kinda slippery, and the windows version having the flickering bug is really annoying (I know the flash version doesn't have it, but still). Still, one of the more interesting games I've seen so far.

Great tutorial work and introducing things one at a time. Lots of different things added to a small game. I like it! It was fun, smooth and polished. Nice job!

Well done, I had not expected so much content, that was a pleasant surprise. I found myself backtrack a bit more than I would want to and felt, that the player controls are a bit slippery, but still enjoyed the game. Very good job!

I really enjoyed playing the game ! Nice game-play, nice music and awesome difficulty. I often get bored by games but you kept me playing. Sadly I had to stop because I could't figure out what to do after reaching 64 Kb.. Maybe a hint button ?

Great game! The graphics are great and the level design is very well done. This is a really well polished game with a lot of content, so good job, especially considering it's compo. I noticed we had the exact same idea for the theme as well, including using kB and and placing/removing cubes. Your game however has much better scope and execution.

I like so much this puzzle kind of games, so yeah, I did enjoy your game. The music was pretty good for the puzzle mood and it involves a bunch of features. So pretty good job! That's one of the best LD42 games I have played. Congrats!

Really liked the simple Graphics and Audio for this game. They worked really well to set the theme. Neat little puzzle game too.

Very solid metroidvania / puzzle game. The main puzzle sounded just cryptic enough, but was not really difficult, just a little bit annoying due to backtracking / lack of me also drawing a map in my notes :) Also, I kind of wished there was a visual indication when I got the fifth signal block in the right order – I was pretty sure I got the solution right but not having *some* sort of sound was a bit worrisome.

The graphics were cute, though simple, same for the music. The latter got a little bit repetitive, maybe

I wish there was more of this game!

Great art style and effects.
Very nice how the functionality of the game is added step by step and you have to discover it by yourself, well done.

This is good! Very well-polished. I'm a fan of minimalist graphics and sound effects, and they really worked wonders for this game. I'm not very good at games like this, so before long I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do, but I still very much enjoyed it. I'll have to have another crack at it after voting ends.

OOOOOOOOH

This is really quality work, fantastic the amount of game design squeezed in there. The mechanics are a little annoying, clicking to place things, though it wasn't that bad as there were not time pressure.

The link to the theme feels tenuous at best though, that's the one major gripe.

The music gets a bit annoying but it wasn't really a huge issue.

Though I'm really in awe of the game design. Mmmmm delicious. But it *was* perhaps a bit hard to solve, and perhaps a tad tedious, but that's forgiveable for such a short game.

Minor gripes with the controls - the character was more slidey than I thought necessary, and it was a bit annoying that each tap of the jump key didn't necessarily gain you enough height to clear one block - which seemed completely unintuitive as that's the minimum height anyone would want to jump. It made jumping stairs more annoying than it needed to be.

EXCELLENT WORK SIR!
