Celestial Stonewall by Mike Marshall

[raw]
made by Mike Marshall for LD 40 (JAM)

Celestial Stonewall is an arcade game that take influence from Real Time Tower Defense and the Atari classic Missile Command. All you need is your mouse. Click to build bases, click to shoot rockets from those bases, but be careful... you only have a limited amount of money and those bases are expensive to maintain!

Cool graphics that remind me of early 90's computer games. I think it needs to communicate how money is earned and spent a little more obviously. I see numbers popping up but didn't feel like I always had a chance to figure out what they really represented. Nice little game.

@mike-cullingham Totally agreed, that is one of the things i think I failed at design wise was making it obvious about what is taking up money and how much. There is a red/green bar at the top that shows it, but it isn't obvious that's what it is for. Noted and will be fixed if we continue to develop the game

I like the missile management system you made. I bet if someone worked really hard they'd get maybe even 10 million as a score!

really fun! I enjoyed the pacing and tactical decision making. I liked the logical progression in enemies: slow and straight asteroids -> quicker ships that move a little, but still easy to track ships -> little fast ships (that I sucked at hitting :P ). Nice built in difficulty curve

I have to agree with @mike-cullingham about communicating the money better

Interesting, casual concept but with a strategy curve. I think with more feedback the feeling would be even better. Congratulations on the project.

Conceito interessante, casual mas com uma curva de estratégia. Acredito que com mais feedbacks o feeling seria ainda melhor. Parabéns pelo projeto. :flag_br:
