S.C.I.A.C.E. - Super Kinetogenic Idiorhythmic Automated Combat Electronics

An arcade dogfighter where you play as a SCIACE drone fighting back against an evil oppressor's mobile fortress. Made for LD39 and inspired by the scale of games like Shadow of the Colossus the MEOWStudios team bring you their newest prototype game!

The Objective of the game is to destroy the mother ship in the center of the desert by first destroying its shield generator, then its comms tower, then various vitals on the outside of the ship and finally its fusion core. Be careful not to run out of power while doing so however as this will mean the end of our cause!

(Playtime - 5-10 minutes)

Controls - - Mouse controls to Yaw and Pitch - W and S to use Throttle - A and D to Roll - Left Click to Shoot - Shift to Lock Rotation - Space to Look Around

Background music is Jessica Day's Methodology licensed under creative commons.

Note: It's not obvious, but enemies drop items that will refuel your ship.

Note Note: To anyone getting any errors when unzipping. Every time I hear about this problem it is because they didn't use 7zip, so give that a go!

Good Game, Control scheme was okay. Would of been nice if the cursor was locked to the game screen, other then that overall really good

This is definetely an amazing entry! These low-poly planes, this mechanic of flying - this is simple, but nice and 'delicious'. I love this, well done! :)

I really enjoyed flying around. I didn't manage to destroy the mothership though. At some point it was hard to distinguish which targets were vitals and which were defenses. Maybe a different target colour? All in all, cool submission!

Amazing. loved it, although the AI was a bit better at shooting me then they probably should have been i noticed that they did very little damage to compensate, so i liked it alot

Nice game, what i loved so far:
- the overall quality.
- the art style.
- the explosions.
- the super FLUID controller.
- the sound effects.

But what i didn't like was few and kinds minor things, like:
- the menu and it's low quality fonts. You would have made a fantastic menu for such a game in a short time.
- the overall volume in the game was very low, and i've to push my speaker to the maximum to be able to hear.

what a star fox game!

I really don't often play flight sims so I'm not really the one to know, but it felt like your game had a really nice flight controller. It felt real and smooth. I didn't manage to take down the base but got pretty far in the second wave of targets. It would have been nice to have a clear indicator about the distance to the target when it wasn't in view to get a better feel for the direction to it and distance. So that you know when you have enough distance that it is worth to go in again. Some feedback on the damage of the target and some. A bit of a shake and some warning sounds about hit or if enemy has me in target would also helped with the mood a bit. Great entry though!

Loved this! I reminds me vaguely of the Assault gametype in Battlefront 2. I'd like to see where this could go after tuning the controls, enemies, weapons, etc to make things more tight and polished.

I also always fall for menus that lead directly into the gameplay.

I was getting an unspecified error when I tried to unzip the file. Sorry I can't play!

I liked the aesthetics of the game and the HUD. A bit hard to get the sense of proximity to the ground. Hard to make up your progress in the game too. You probably should hide the mouse cursor too. Nice work!

Very nice entry, it just seems to be impossible, as I always run out of power.

"S.C.I.A.C.E.” is a fantastic and minimalistic space shooter. While the gameplay based around moving freely to destroy the enemy base rather than just being on-rails is quite admirable for a game like this, what I liked the most was the graphics. The models and textures were very simple, yet they had amazing light effects and explosions made this department very joyful. If this game had more ships to destroy and to pilot, I'd definitely pay for it.

My only complaints are the camera (it gets stuck after using the throttle and the breaks) and the sound (great music and sounds, don't get me wrong, but the volume was quite low by default)

There's a lot of things to destroy. Is there any way to replenish your power? Or is it just your time limit?

I enjoyed playing this game. Really smooth controls and it feels quite realistic. I agree that the volume is a bit low and that the fonts in the menu could have been better, but overall a good experience.

Nice, this is really fun! The combat gameplay is really solid & satisfying, although some more audio feedback when hitting an enemy with a shot would help the gamefeel. I found the mouse controls to bit a little awkward - would love to have proper gamepad controls here. (also, the cursor was a little distracting, hiding that would have been nice) Loved the retro 3d look too, especially the explosion effects. I wasn't sure what the power mechanic was about - would be cool to see this with some sort of powerup system for recovering health/power. Awesome work! (side note, if the music wasn't made for the game you probably should have opted out of the audio category)

This is a really nice, polished game. I enjoyed attempting it several times. I though the yaw was rather difficult to control precisely when I was trying to come in to strafe something. I also wished I had had far more power to play around with. I tried to land back at the base to recharge, but I don't think that was a thing you intended. I think the power as a system hurt the game overall.

Cool dogfighting game. I enjoyed the overall idea and concept, but I think the controls were a bit awkward. I would've loved to play it with a gamepad and to not see my mouse all the time. Some mechanics to charge up your power again like landing in the base would've been nice or did I overlook something?

Controls were great! Very smooth and fluid. Only note I would have is to start the player a bit higher before they take control, I didn't have my mouse in position properly the first time, so I crashed almost immediately. I did like the transition from the title screen to the game, very cool.

Cool game ! But, I didn't understand how to regain power, sometime my power increase but I don't understand why. Also, mouse controls are hard

Nice. I loved it!

Sure, better environment and models could make it nicer, but it was nice enough for the minimalistic style.

I was not able to win it after trying multiple times tho. Is there a way to recharge your energy/power? :)
