Hidden Hearts by toad

[raw]
made by toad for LD 42 (JAM)

A hidden object game where you have to find some ingredients for a potion. A werewolf is also there. Most assets were made by me during the jam period, but due to the many creative commons photograph for the hidden object part, I opted out of judging on graphics. Changelog: 13. August 2018, 16:44 CEST: The cheat around highlighting the image has been fixed. Hopefully. Let me know if you can still do it!

I loved the mood and the art style of the game! Top notch work on all that stuff. I don't know how you would fix this workaround but I managed to cheat on your game by double clicking on the background and it would highlight the background image and leave all the interactable images unhighlighted. I liked the scrolling to progress in the game!

Couldn't figure out how to choose the ingredients, but was a good idea.....the wolfman and her dialogue was funny to me!

I managed to pick up everything except the cup, I simply could not find it. I like the idea and how the game structured as a continues story you scrolled. The interaction with the image was a bit hard though.

Very cool idea! And as @seannewman22 pointed out there is a bug/cheat that spoils the game unfortunatly. Other than that a very creative entry :)

I don't really like hidden object, but I like the mood and the scrolling-telling.

And too bad we can't rate the graphics, I like the pixel art too.

I personally dislike hidden-object games, however, I loved the tone and art. Fantastic retro gameboy-esque color palette =). Would absolutely love to see a longer narrative experience with the same level of world-building.

Also, props for building something purely on HTML/web. No need for a game-engine to add bloat =P

I think the hidden object section could have really benefited from custom art, it was a bit jarring going from pixel art to realistic images. overall it was too short and I really liked the mood.

Where is the cup argggggg....open inspector, find cup in svg....continue. Pretty fun and frustrating at the same time. A bit more content would be awesome but I guess I had at least another hour if I kept searching for the cup.
