Sacrifiskeleton by IkigaiSeitetsu

[raw]
made by IkigaiSeitetsu for LD 43 (JAM)

Heroes and heroines are about sacrifices. Being a skeleton, this applies when going ahead, "sacrificed", and becoming the leader's bone-merangs.

Go sacrificed as a leader, or as ammo leads?

Controls:

  • D - Walk right
  • W - Jump to stomp on an enemy
  • Left Click - Throw a bone-merang
  • Hold A - Sacrifice a skeleton for some bone-merangs

~~Caution: This game is totally playable, but because stuffs, it is far from the designed complexity... Wish there be no more electricity outs while LD is going~~

Love the bone sacrifice idea! That's really creative and a great use of the theme! This was definitely a difficult theme to incorporate, and you did a great job! I'm really enjoying your graphics as well. Great job on your art and game!

Sorry you had a power-outage! The programmer for my game and I had a scare the day before jam! I was really worried! You accomplished a lot!

Maaan, I love this concept! It would fit perfectly on smartphones :)

The execution is really good. You nailed the feeling of leading an entire skeleton cohort. The dialogs are a nice addition. Combined with the various colors, it gave the skeletons some real personality. Graphics are really cool, too. I especially love the design of the green enemies with the bandanas. So cute <3

Music would have been nice. In my head, I knew, how the soundtrack was supposed to sound like. Or at least would sound like, if I were in charge, haha.

Great entry, you definitely need and deserve more votes! :)

oh god, I would have loved this game if id had no max live counter. 'RUN' hahahaa. Throwing myself on the enemies to make place for next generations. inspired me :D

@ianlux @subtlydramatic Thank you so much for your encouragements ;v;

@tpamir @muffty Our team didn't place an in-between level, therefore the control of the level difficulty has been lost since, I suppose... ;-;||| Thank you for your feedbacks!

@purrseus It's really nice to hear that you like our game! I was not quite sure about whether I should insist on polishing their personalities, there being little time left before the submission hour... But these details render the 'sacrifice-and-move-on' idea quite well at last, which is a great relief. Thank you very much for your comment, it means a lot to us!! <3

Nice game, I only had to die 43 times to get to the end :)

Love the end-game statistics! 358 jumps, 80 dead colliding skeletons, 19 dead bone-meranged skeletons, 106 bone-merangs thrown, 162 enemies defeated. Good concept, being able to "exchange" skeletons for enemies (enemies also die upon contact) makes it a bit too easy on the player but the difficult level design made up for it.

Very cool idea for the theme, solid execution, feels very polished. If you would extend the game with a few more mechanics and more levels I would love to play it some more!

I like the idea, and it works well! Was pretty damn hard to win. :-) Some tighter platforming controls would really help, and maybe the ability to aim bones. I also think some of the guys trailing behind me died?
