Zone Out 42 by Kisamegr

Zone Out 42 is a frantic twin stick shooter game. Although it is heavily inspired by the Geometry Wars games, it comes with its own twist; The walls are constantly closing in and you must defeat the waves before you are squashed in.
The game contains different kinds of power ups and enemies.
This is our first Ludum Dare entry. Our team is comprised of only two programmers, therefore we ended up using only primitive shapes for our graphics with a lot of in-engine post processing effects.

The red sticks that did nothing seemed a bit out out of place though.
@return-null The red sticks are there just to stall you while the walls are closing in since they need a lot of hits to be destroyed.
@scott-steffes Yeah, the size of the camera was a decision we had to make. Being too far would allow you to see more of the map and the borders but it didn't feel as stressful.
Might be nice to have a eased out camera because it feels a little rough with all the quick movements I make in the game. It might also be nice to see a Indicator for how far the walls are away from you outside the screen.
Awesome first entry for a LDjam and I hope to see more of you guys in the future!
Overall a very fun game. I really liked how the running out of space can be used by the player to actually kill the enemies quicker (e.g. by dashing through them when they have nowhere else to go), creating something of a comeback mechanic.
But guys, level 5... I tried itlike 10 times and couldnt' pass it.
