Hi, This is my second LD game. It's an out of space bus simulator. :laughing:

When I was a student, I felt out of space every day because there are so many people on public transportations. And here is the OVERLOADED, hopefully, it can remind you of some experience with buses. :bus: :trolleybus: :minibus:

:bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus:

How to Play:

There is a simple tutorial level.

And here are some simple instruction. ( Same as the tutorial) 1. Click doors to open or close it. 2. Passenger must buy tickets near the driver. // Passenger will have a number above head after buying the ticket. 3. Click passenger number to push them. // The number is where its owner wants to go. ( bus stop 1,2,3,4, ....) 4. Click driver to move to next station. 5. Click driver to end the game at the final station. 6. Open and close doors can solve stuck.

:bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus:

Efficiency = (Deliver - Complaint)*3600/Time. Higher efficiency is better.

Made by rainysoolar(.etc) & wuyan(audio)

Thanks for your playing!!

:bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus::bus:

Little Fix V0.1:

  1. Make numbers' click area larger.

  2. Make click push action more obvious.

  3. Fix a small bug.

Very, very funny game. It's rare to see a game that's able to be funny through its mechanics alone, and pull it off so well. I also loved the voices of the passengers, I even heard one or two of them say "Leave me alone!".

This is actually a pretty special one. I wish you could filter for games like these, with web builds and simple click to play buttons.

The art here is consistent and clear. It gets right to the point. The sounds are wonderful. No popping or earsplitting decibel levels.

My favorite thing is how its funny cuz its real. At my uni it was the same deal. Packed buses suck. You always kinda needed someone to push the people away from the main doors. Awesome game.

So silly and so funny. Really playful sort of feel to this game. It's one of those games where you have fun just doing random things like closing doors on people or leaving the doors open while the bus is going.

This is a really polished game for the most part. I really like the graphics and the sound effects when you click on the people's numbers. What I'd change is rather than clicking the number let me click on the person. This would make it easier and much more fun to play. What is your efficiency? Mine was 161 I believe.

Really like this idea and the execution is nice, only change i would have is to make the clickable area or the passengers just a little bigger. This could work really nice with gestures on a mobile device if you decide to take it further.

Amazing game, I love the idea and the execution! It's super fun to figure out how exactly to manage everyone, and I love the audio - it fits incredibly well.

Thank you all for the comments.
I'm pretty happy you enjoy this little work. :laughing:

@madar-games My efficiency is about 2000+/h. When to open doors is the key to achieve higher efficiency. And thanks for your advice. :bus:

@connorthompson This game is made for 1080p resolution, so it would be a little smaller for clicking as Html5. And thanks for the gesture control advice, sounds very attractive. :v:

Wow I really love this game. The idea is very unique and the execution is great. The audio is funny because it is all gibberish. Very well done.

However I still don't understand what the number stand for and I don't really know if the passenger has paid yet. Also would be nice to make the number clicking area bigger for easier clicking.

Overall, very well done!

Fun overloaded. Ticket collection process at the front side makes it more fun and challenging. Cool SFX too. Love it :) :) :)
One small concern is the smaller click area on HTML5 version.

Such a funny game! I feel myself as the bus driver, struggling with passengers... here in Panama there are old buses named "Diablos rojos" in which bus driver has always to yell over the passengers to move backwards
great job man!

Interesting that you used Chinese as the main language, But darn this game reminds me so much of the public transport, Thanks for all the awful memories

13. Aug 2018 · 16:26 UTC
Got an efficiency of 1115/h i'll let you tell me if it's good or bad. I left some people on the street though...
Cool entry! clicking on the number is quite hard and unpredictable and opening the front door always seems to unleash hell on my bus. the back door is easier to manage. i think that flaging front door as entering and backdoor as exit and only clicking on bad behaviour or to push people inside could lead to a more interesting gameplay. It's funny because your game is the other side of this one : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/stuck

critics aside, i played the game to the end and really enjoyed it. graphics are nice and the tutorial mission is a nice addition to it.

Just one thing: how you have to time the doors to actually convince people to use front door to get on the bus?

Really fun and entertaining game, despite the memories! :D I love the audio, it adds so much to the mood of the game. Will have to play it few more times to try and find a perfect balance between complaints and time spent. I've always tried to win with no complaints, but then I've decided to take a look at what will happen if I open doors midway, so...

I enjoyed the "get out of the way" feeling I was experiencing throughout the game. I also liked the different languages the characters spoke in their funny chipmunk tones. This is a game that genuinely made me chuckle on multiple occasions. With that said, I cannot see it turned into anything other than a quirky jam game.

Awesome job!

16. Aug 2018 · 03:56 UTC
Like the characters and the vibe of the game. Clicking the numbers never felt very successful. The characters always seemed to prefer the rear entrance and would then get stuck. I never really felt in control of the systems. Neat use of the concept though!

Thank you all for the comments. I will play, rate and comment all of your games. :laughing:

@dray 1115/h is a good efficiency. And yes the Stuck game provides another point of view about an overloaded transportation. Really admire Stuck's great polish.

@kromeboy The point is don't open the rear door too early, because all of the passengers are eager to get on the bus. :laughing:

@wahooney Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I could make a post-jam version with a more control-able gameplay with your advice.

@arbosis Sure, Why not? :v:

@joemag Clicking the numbers is the action to push passengers going to the rear part of the bus. So if there is no space around the passenger, it may seem not working.
Thanks for the comments, Maybe I could design a more control-able gameplay in post-jam version.

16. Aug 2018 · 09:45 UTC
This game is super fun! The voices add a nice touch to the feel of the game. I felt a bit frustrated with not being able to fully take control of the gameplay however. Even though I can control the front and rear door, I can hardly predict or control which way the passengers go. It would be great if you could give more control to players imho. And of course, Some splashes of blood when you run over passengers in front of the bus is always appreciated :P
🎤 rainysolar
16. Aug 2018 · 11:55 UTC
@kingofwhawha Sorry for the no-fully control gameplay. But you know the 'bus driver' can only control doors and ask the passenger to move forward. :laughing:
I will consider some splashes of blood and a more controllable gameplay in post-jam version. Thanks for your advice.

Very nicely captures that feeling of some people are sooo stupid and overall frustration of busy public transport system. I liked it. Great mechanics for a small game, doesn't lag either on web, so that's a good point. I don't know how i feel about paid assets on a jam, i think you should have done the assets yourself since there's not much to be done in terms of background. But it's still a great entry ! Good job guys.

According to the rule "You’re free to use 3rd party Artwork/Music/Audio assets, or assets you previously created, but we ask that you OPT-OUT of the respected voting categories (Graphics, Audio)." , using paid assets is allowed. And I have removed the Graphics Rates due to this rule.
