EXTREME EXTERMINATION DEFENSE by chaoclypse

Splatter bugs while building and upgrading towers in this mashup of both vehicle combat simulators and tower defense games!
NOTE: We realized that we spelled "Defense" as "Denfense" in the title screen, so we fixed it after the deadline since it was a small bug and the rules for Ludum Dare allow it. We changed nothing else.

Please, take a look at my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/confessional
At first I thought I would only build damage towers, but by making them rather underwhelming and more of a "last resort" feel and the car so "OP", you naturally become more inclined to use car related towers. Also to have "Towers" that only effect your car in interesting ways is brilliant! There is so much potential in that.
Loved it from start to finish, also, great presentation all around. A good menu system when building tower, good sounds etc. Was a blast.
I suggest health bars on enemies would be really good!
I really enjoyed this game. Although I didn't feel like the speed and jump towers were really worth it because I had to go there to get some benefit and couldn't stay close to the base. I would have liked to instead be able to upgrade my car.
The controls are really good and the enemy variety was impressive.
Great job!
Btw if u wanna try out our 3D sound based horror + comedy game, it's here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/memebumps would really appreciate your ratings and reviews! Thanks!
I had some issues with the controls. Specially when going on reverse. I can't really understand clearly what I think went wrong with them. They just didn't feel good and I was constantly steering to the wrong direction.
The overall vibe of the game is pretty neat! Congrats!
Ah, if you have some time, please take a look at my entry, as I'm still short of a few ratings: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/last-stand
Solid idea that's unfortunately not allowed to reach its full potential due to the car being very difficult to control. I'm not sure exactly what it is but I think it's the angular momentum being so intense and the car never really going where I expect it to after having turned a bit. It made it very, very difficult to hit any bugs with the car and ultimately I had to rely on the towers doing almost all of the work for me, turning it into a regular tower defense game. ):
I really think you could go somewhere with this if you kept working on it post jam and tried to tighten those car controls because, again, it definitely is a cool concept that really works.
I can see that you borrowed music and opted out of the audio category, but my compliments to the author of the music nonetheless! Good track, and it was a good choice for this game. Fit really well. Good work on sound effects too.
Nice job overall!
But I could not finish the last wave =)
