Project Super Ultimate Democracy Simulator (LDJAM42) by SystematicComplexity

[raw]
made by SystematicComplexity for LD 42 (COMPO)

Here is my entry for LD42! The concept of this game was to try to win an election by securing the most seats compared to your opponents. However, as your opponents try to do the same, you will realize that trying to expand is difficult, as there are only a limited number of seats to go around (maybe you can say you are "running out of space").

How to play:

Use WASD or the arrow keys to move the camera and Q and Z to zoom in and out

Each turn the player will perform an action in a city

-This will be done by clicking on the "Select City" button, which will bring up a set of actions

-Each Action has a cost and a risk, the higher the risk, the lower the cost.

-These actions will earn or lose the player a certain number of seats per action.

-The player can raise more funds if needed (useful in longer campaigns)

-Please note that the 2 computer opponents will also be trying to earn seats (clearly there isn't enough space for all these parties)

-After the required number of turns have passed, the player will be judged on two categories, whether they control the most number of districts, and whether they have earned the most seats (on aggregate).

Good Luck and Have Fun!

The project files and latest builds have been included below via Google Drive

Known Issues:

Sound does not play

There have been issues with the shaders

Menus can hang when trying to access the main menu(normally self-resolves)

The code is horribly written (sorry to anyone looking at it...)

Hey man, nice game however you should try and rate other people's games if you want a better chance at winning :)

Nice one! The Reds kicked my arse; I guess unprepared speeches only get you so far in life.
