Zombigwa Machine

Genres

Puzzle and Shooter

Story

You have to close a gate. Otherwise Zombies will get in your base. To close the gate you have to get a machine running. This machine needs Zombiebrain. BUT it wants a specific sequence of Zombie-Types

Mechanics

WASD : Walk
Mouse : Aim and Shoot

If you shoot a zombie his head with go of his body and fly in the same direction as the bullet before. Heads bounce of from walls and destory other zombies. They go either in the machine or are destoryed at the spikes. Finish the sequence before every zombie is gone through.

You don't have to shoot every zombie.

Annotations

It was our first Ludum Dare with this time and only one team member participated before. The journey was more about learning how to program and do graphics and sounds as trying to make a perfect game. But it was fun and in the end we made something that is playable so we are happy

We hope you guys like it. Have fun

Interesting idea! Some comments:
- Zombies were too loud, they drowned out the music.
- Adding sounds for _player actions_ is probably more important than passive background sounds such as the zombies. It makes the game feel much better when you hear sounds in response to your actions. For example, when you shoot your gun, or when you shoot in the correct type of zombie head. It makes players feel rewarded for playing your game.
- For a game where the sequence of enemies is important, it was too difficult to tell apart the zombie types! I'm not saying it was _hard_, but it should be _much easier_, since it's a critical part of your game.

It was definitely not a bad game. Easy to pick up and play.

Love the retro street shoot-em-up themed graphics. Zombies were a bit loud. But the art and sound design really complemented each other.

Really liked the music and pixel art, it looks great especially considering it was a 1 person team.
