Escape by Teelin

[raw]
made by Teelin for LD 42 (JAM)

Can you escape before you run out of space... MainLogo.png

You are stuck in a room with for challenges ahead of you and only one door. You Must complete all of the challenges to get the code to escape the room. And if that wasn't hard enough the room is filling slowly with water. Screen4.png (IT HAS LASERS) Screen5.png

Controls

Simple WASD to move and mouse click and drag to look around. Each puzzle will change the camera view to zoom in and will have clickable parts (mainly buttons) If you get too deep in the water you will start to swim (Slide around) You can swim up with space and down with C

This is my attempt at a game for Ludum Dare 42 created by myself as a Solo. It is the first game that I have made and the first one I've coded. Hope you enjoy playing as much as I had making it.

UPDATED: 14/08/2018 21:30 Just updated fixing an error on one of the pages of the riddle challenge.

The 64Bit version is the same as the Jam build but with a change of location with some items that should make some challenges simpler with a clue added for one of them.

The 64bit and 32bit uploads have some tweaks from after the jam finished and will be the one that will be updated

Future

I Still need to finish the art and will be looking at expanding the game in the future.

Hey there, good job on finishing a game for LDJAM, you can be proud! I really liked the aesthetics of it, there were some beautiful models (especially the vault!). That being said I have some feedback: I didn't really know you could drag the camera, it might have been more intuitive to lock the camera to the cursor movement in the first place? The lightswitch was a bit confusing, especially when I turned it off and I couldn't see anything, so I had a really hard time turning the light on again. When there's water the player start to glide around the place, so it's pretty hard to stay locked into a puzzle, and I also don't seem to die before of drowning?

Other than that I think the puzzles were nice and quite a challenge :) I'm usually pretty okay at puzzle games, but this one I couldn't solve (I'd love to know the answers though! haha) Good job!

@virtual-turtle-studio Thanks for the ideas. The camera solution is first on my list to fix. I did have it without a mouse but it gave me issues and the camera drag was quickest easiest fix
@thibaultar Thank you I will look into adding support for this.
@cenullum Thanks I liked yours too

Nice 3d work and mood setting in this. It's a little confusing with the cameras switching immediately though, and aside from the light puzzle the rest I couldn't solve.

@randomphantom Thank you I have made small changes in my latest 64bit version that should help with at least one of the other puzzles.

Wow, we have similar names for our games xD Cool game by the way, was realy fun. Just the size of the game put me off a little at the beginning.

I think one of the sheets on the wall is wrong.

[spoiler]

If I understand correctly, green mark indicates a good number at the right place, and a green mark crossed with a red one indicate a good number at the wrong place.
The bottom right sheet indicates 2 numbers at the right place. But there are 2 numbers at the right place and 1 at the wrong place (1 is at the wrong place, 7 and 9 are at the right place). Which makes the puzzle unsolvable (if you take into account the other sheets).

I like escape rooms so this was nice. Unfortunatly I had some trubble moving the camera, so in combination with the difficult puzzels I didn't manage to finish the game.
The concept was nice and it looked good. Since I didn't solve all the puzzels I can comment on if they were good or not, but they were at least challanging.
Good entry. Give the it some polish and I would love to play it again.
