This was a lot of fun, shooting was very satisfying! Good atmospheric music. And the stress of keeping the light on was really good, and very satisfying when you kill a few enemies in a row and throw them all in to gain a big light boost.

Cool game. The atmosphere is nice. The music fits the game and the pixel art is great.

This is a game I'd actually really enjoy if it were fleshed out more. I love that you put so much effort into gamefeel type stuff. It really shows! Shooting a vampire just feels really satisfying.

Great mood, superb audio, nice graphics. And the gameplay actually works! Having more different types of opponents would improve replayability. All in all a fun and very polished project!

One of the best entries I've see. Mood is very well done, I did find the premise oppressive and the music helped as well. Easily one of my favourites so far. Good job.

Shooting feels great and the animations are really nice! Personally I would have used a top down or 3/4 perspective and had more kinds of vampires. The mechanic to extend your fire is brilliant and I had a blast! Great work.

As said above, nice animation and gameplay. Like the mechanics in itself. You got an interesting top view shooter game. May have to improve with more stuff (like other type of vampire or else...). Keep it up good job !

Best entry for me so far, loved the mood,
· The game is well polished
· The design is simple (meaning elegant) and fun.
· Loved both the light mechanic and the crossbow enhancement mechanic.

Really like the stylish effects and how you can actually use the pyre to slow down the vampires. Maybe if you don't burn the bodies, the vampires resurrect? Would add theme points. You should probably build on the concept and release a full game, it would be bloody awesome :O

Can't add much more than what's already been said! A super creative use of the theme and awesome execution.

I really like this game. Maybe music may be more "pixels" but its pretty good. I'm enjoyed this game.

Nice graphics, good controls and juicy gameplay :)
Liked the double bow upgrade !
My score was 19900.
The only "problem" I see is that fuel the fire is practically impossible to miss if you kill the ennemies. Maybe add more pyres ?
Anyway congratulations and thank you for the review on your twitch account :)

Really solid. I would mention the light fading and that burning vampires restores it; I didn't see how the game fit the theme at first.

Cool idea, haven't seen something like that yet. Besides, I really like double crossbow thing.
I've played it for a quite some time, wish there was more upgrades like tripple crossbows or automatic crossbow

The only thing I miss is more visual feedback on the power-up. At first I thought I would keep it forever. Even now I wonder if it is limited by shots or by time. A simple bar showing how much power-up remains would be nice. Or to save the clean interface: The player character becomes huge when he gets the power-up and shrinks back to normal size as the power-up is being used up. I am sure you could find a neat way to tell the player what is going on.

But that's only a nitpack. Music, gameplay and graphics fit each other very well. I agree with the other commenters, it is a great entry!

Very solid entry! Had lots of fun trying to line the vampyres up to get combos :P I'm still not 100% sure what triggers the slayer event but very cool nonetheless.

Very smooth gameplay! Simple enough to play. I would suggest a bar that shows your progress for gaining "slayer", like X enemies until slayer activates ^^

Had to go back to this page to see how I kept the fire burning, other than that. Solid gameplay. Can see this getting repetitive after a while. Graphics are simple enough but portray the style the game is meant to have. Running out of space was obvious and a constant threat. Good job. Maybe add more variants of vampires!

@devio Thank you for trying my game! Yes, unfortunately I didn't have time to include instructions in-game except for the control scheme in the top-right corner as I was running out of time, the idea was that people would intuitively understand that vampires should go on the bonfire as space gets more restricted and the fact that it happens automatically, but I guess that wasn't the case.

I included the instructions on the page as I had hoped most people would read the page, but understand this is not always true. I spent a lot of time trying to balance difficulty and getting the mood right, but I'll try to get instructions included next time, although it this will always be a lower priority on my list of things to do.

Thank you for the honest feedback, glad you enjoyed it.

Cool game! I really liked the graphics and the animations, and oh, the music even though you couldn't really guess that it's for a vampire related game. Good job tho!

Nice game! I agree with the feedback that instructions in the game would benefit, but my game suffers from that as well, i guess.

Oddly creepy thought that you are keeping your area lit by burning the corpses of your enemies. I liked the gameplay a lot

Cool game! Very fun shooting the vampires and burning their corpses for my survival. The music and art were nicely put together. I liked the whole fire mechanic reminded me of Don't Starve but much more fast paced. Great job!

Movement is sooo fluid, it feels almost pleasurable to move the lil guy around, I felt like Morty when he experienced what true level was. And the music is fantastic, it really sets the mood. No complaints, everything is pretty solid. Well done.

Interesting "running out of space" mechanism that actually makes sense. It is very simple but I havent seen any other entry that does this. The movement feels good and responsible, good job!

Man, I suck at this game. But it great! Once I learnt to throw enemies into the fire it was better.

Very well done! I thought the game hit the theme very well! The music was well done, though it did get a bit repetitive over time. Controls overall felt great. Animation was well done (and a very good touch for the player). The game does seem to feel a tad too slow to ramp up, but over time. Graphics were simple but well done.

Very nice job overall. I thoroughly enjoyed playing it.
