A small game with a short session length. The graphics are okay, and the sound effects fit them nicely. I played the web version on itch.io and it feels like the viewport size is messed up a bit, as e.g. the time is not fully visible. Also, I managed to push the enemy over the floating box to the right and that didn't count as a win.

tough battles! was fun to play a fighting game. i liked the concept. i liked how i can block the incoming projectiles with my own. i realized if i just spam the attack fast and often i can eventually win.

Very fun and pretty game! I really like your art style and the theme you created in this game. If you take this game further, the one thing I would recommend to improve on would be the core gameplay feel. Just make the physics feel a bit better and make it a bit more intuitive to dodge/counter attacks. But I still had a ton of fun playing a few rounds! Great take on the theme, and congratulations on making a game in only 24 hours!

Simple, short, sweet... All words I'd use to describe shortbread AND this game. The graphics are simple, to the point, and the misc is Ye' Olde Fashioned chip tune, A note about the sound... THE TRIDENT IS WAY TOO LOUD. I think this game with a bit more complexity could be a solid fighting game, nothing major just a few combos and more ways to dodge, like give ME a way to do the double trident and don't just let me spam the trident infinity. Overall, pretty ok.

Liked the artstyle. The gameplay needs some work. To beat the AI you can just spam the fire button and easy win. I would change it to have attacks be more strategic. I experiment with having limited tridents and the ability to throw low, mid, high. Maybe a block. Good work though for COMPO

I like the art style you were going for. As has been said, the core gameplay loop needs some second thought, since you can just spam attacks. All in all, good compo entry. Good job!

Good idea, but the realization of gameplay is buggy.

This is a good entry, kind of reminds me of super smash brothers, or brawlhalla.
But are a few things, that I dislike about it:
1. You can spam arrows as fast as you can, there should be some limit/cooldown on how much spears you can throw per second.
2. you cannot define the direction that you throw the spears. therefore you cannot for example go right of your enemy and push him off your side!
3. Therefore there is no challenge, or any skill needed and you just spam click and try not to fall into the pits.

But the artstyle is nice and the idea is not that new, but also not bad.

haha, I liked spamming the spears though it was perhaps a bit too much. The knockback on the enemy's spear also felt very strong, I got knocked off the level a couple times before being able to win. It be interesting if more strategy was introduced in the game, like being able to dodge or reflect spears, or blocking, or doing all that in certain directions so you have to aim. There are various ways to build on the initial concept. Keep up the good work!

I really like the pixel graphics, and the music is good too. I think once you add a timer for the shots it'll be even better.

simple, yet effective. By far the silliest game i've played yet this LD. hahahahaha the cat game was close to it, but this one beats it in silliness hahahahaha https://www.screencast.com/t/cag13aPypp5y

thanks for the sincerity lol, I only had 24 hours to do, and did not want to stay out. so I did what I had time to do, but I really could do a lot more. With the help of these comments I am learning ideas to add more challenge even in a simple project of this. thank you all

Interesting idea. The arena falling apart seemed a bit inconsistent to me, and the combat didn't feel particularly intuitive - I wasn't sure what the strategy was, aside from 'spam click.' Also, I'd suggest supporting alternative control schemes, such as using w instead of space to jump and using the arrow keys. Good work!
