Property In-spectre by Tad

You are a Real-Estate Agent with a Big Problem
Unfortunately, the house you have to sell is haunted by ghosts.
You've been a real-estate agent for a while, so you know that haunted houses tend to fair poorly at auction. If there were only a single spectral entity in the house you'd be able to sell it as a charming bonus of the property. However, there's not just one. And you know what they say about ghosts: The more you have, the worse it is.
I ain't afraid of no ghosts!
Real-estate agents are fearless creatures. Unfortunately, potential buyers aren't charmed with the same fortitude!
The ghosts that haunt this particular house are very fond of possessing furniture and spooking anyone that comes too close. For a potential buyer, that's a deal-breaker!
What should I do?
Your job is to rid the house of ghosts before the potential buyers arrive for their inspection. The best way to do that is give them a taste of their own medicine! Scare all the ghosts before they scare your customers at the open-house inspection.
What then?
If all goes well, you'll be collecting your hard-earned commission at the end of the day.
If not... well...

How to Play
What to Do
Ghosts are mischievous creatures - when they possess an object, it will sometimes shake. Keep a lookout for any shaking objects in the house. Then, track them down and scare the ghosts out of them!

Thanks for the feedback! We had some difficulty with the stairs in particular. It's certainly something we'll revisit if we continue working on the game!
Thank you for the feedback, and trying our game! May I ask what OS you were running it on?
We'll take a look at optimizing the game's frame rate if we continue working on the game after LDjam ends.
Cheers!
Windows 7.
Post game notes: Make elevator instead of stairs next time :P
Unfortunately the player mesh collide with the stairs and the command are not responsive.
I really liked the description of the game
Also, the presentation you did for this game is stellar! The whole page here looks well prepared and has a nice finish!
There's a few quirks with the gameplay though as others have already mentioned.
There's a delay between the shout and the actual animation that breaks the immersion somewhat. Maybe you could shorten the clip or delay the audio slightly?
The shaking doesn't care about ghosts "in progress", so if you start making one go away and it's visible, the object behind can start shaking (even though the ghost is not still inside).
The stairs have a steep learning curve, I found that the best way to descend was to go in front of them and use Arrow Down. A bit unclear, but once you figure it out it's easy to use!
Overall it's a fun idea, and I'd love to see more like this. Perhaps expand it to cover some more houses and implement a way to use the $ you earn? I'm a bit puzzled over why the amount of sellers affect the winnings, but hey, you gave me the power to spook so I can't complain about that! ;D
If you have some spare time, I would really love it if you would spare a few minutes to check our game out and leave a comment about what you thought was good or bad about it and how we can improve for our next jam. It might not be as spooky as yours, but we're easily scared! ;)

In any case, I like the idea and connection to the theme.
@Shimmen That's a good thought. We decided that the time spent spooking unhaunted objects was penalty enough, but perhaps we need to shorten the round-time.
Thanks for the feedback!
And thanks for the comment on our entry, mate. Glad you liked it :)
After downloading it worked fine though :) Ghosts are a great idea! Nice work! I would have some suggestions though:
* The time should be displayed bigger so that it gets noticed more easily
* Maybe turn it red to the end
* Maybe make it more clear how the highscore (money) you get is being calculated
Greetings!
Jogo interessante com uma mecânica diferente. Parabéns. :flag_br:
