[raw]
made by axoona for LD 38 (JAM)

There is a theory called Six Degrees of Separation according to which all living things and everything else in the world are six or fewer steps away from each other. The world is small they say and these two kids want to put the theory in action.

Fun game! Some of the grammar and spelling is off, but other then that, it's entertaining, humorous, and had a nice take on the theme!

Loved it! Especially graphics, humor and music ... That leave little room for things not especially loved :)

Really fun game, the music is really cool

I really love the way you interpreted the theme (I had a similar idea but we did go for another one ;) )

Graphics are cool too, and the endings are awesome :)
Really good job !!

@togimaro: thank's a lot for reporting that bug! :)

@everyone: thank you for the encouraging feedback
really sorry for all the typos, I was speed writing it all at 1 am just before the deadline ;)
the music isn't mine but I agree that it is great !

Nice idea, fun game and the graphics are really appealing! My only complaint is that the chat feature can feel a bit bland at times. It would be nice to have more choices with what to say, even if they didn't really change anything.

Awesome game ! Funny, innovative, with a really nice interpretation of the theme. Graphics and music are really gound as well !

The only negative aspect is that I reached one of the endings without realizing the game would end so it was a bit frustrating.

I like this take on the theme, it seems to me that it has multiple dimensions :) Really great art, music and dialogue. I was only able to find two of the endings, neither of which were me making friends with Rockin' Dave.

This is a great game! The idea was pretty good. The pixel art is great, I'm not a big fan of the palette, but that's just my personal preference. :P

I got two of the three endings.

The music was good, but it got repetitive after a bit.

The walking seemed a bit slow, but it wasn't that much of a problem.

Anyway, good entry!

Awesome! One of the best game I have tried! Graphics so cool, music so cool and good dialogues! You also talk about generation difference, with the grandpa outside while internet ruins the youngs XD so good man, really good work! :) (anyway we also make a graphic adventure)

Nice game ! I liked the graphics, and you did a pretty good job with this complex storyline. It was a very enjoyable little point and click, quite polished and complete, congratulations.
I just rated it !

Brilliant! Has the similar feel of classic 90s point-n-click adventure games, great job getting multiple endings as well. The music felt a bit short, although it was fitting. Great entry nonetheless!

One of your most polished games! The chat system is really good and reminds me of Emily is Away (without the choices of course). A kind of game within the game. I would have loved to have more exploration though, and walking sounds (I love these in adventure games :p).. but it's already a huge work for a jam, especially with these 3 endings! Well done axoona :)

Pretty cool, but the chatting got somewhat repetitive … It became a collectathon sort of thing, and nothing was really any different, just going through the contacts one by one, sometimes having to return, but that was it. I must admit, after getting to an ending like this I was not interested in getting the other two! The walking animation was a bit slow too.

But the music was nice (though I guess not yours) and the graphics pretty coherent. Maybe it would be cool to have a map on a notice board, sort of like you get with police investigations, with pins and photos and stuff? :) Then the progress would be very visual and it would be easier to mix various contact methods.

Well done :)

@aurel300 I know the chat may not be a little repetitive, the problem is I wrote this part 2 hours before the deadline, so I didn't really have much time for a lot of dialog writing ;)

anyway the other 2 endings are acheived differentky, i.e. not with chat, and because of that the "hidden" message of the game becomes apparent. I hope this will maybe motivate you in some way to try and find them. although you still will need to start with chat and listen carefully to dialogs in order to know what to do (or just watch the walkthrough)

Very nice concept! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Found all three endings. Took me a while to realize i have to perform the same action multiple times to get a new dialogue option for the "real" ending. I like the "hidden" critique of the behaviour of the main character(s) and the player of the game. The worst ending could be found very easily, i guess i played the game exactly as you intended it to be played, which is a great accomplishment. Well done!

Haha, excellent take on the theme and a nice little mini adventure game. Art looks really Lucas Artsy. A bit goofy (in a good way) but still pretty relatable.

- Love the art. Reminds me of Maniac Mansion for the classic NES!
- Messaging interface is smooth too. During first message with cousin Lisa she's talking about her Dad quite a bit but the option says Uncle, which is a little confusing.
- The background music is fantastic.

Overall, loved this, one of the best games I've played so far in this jam.
